Job Description

  • Key SME (Subject Matter Expert) specific to Alcatel System of Transmission DWDM /SDH / ASON / PSS Network.
  • Provide support for 24x7 TAC Shift-in-charge on need basis and engage in L3 issues till final resolution.
  • Prepare proactive and reactive plans to reduce faults in Network.
  • Prepare RCA with complete POA and track till resolution.
  • Strongly engage with Vendor in terms of ORM, escalations of faults and track to closure.
  • Keeping track of the Network Uptime and projects aimed at improving it.
  • Keep track and upgrade Network Element & NMS Software versions as per need to ensure minimum fault.
  • Establish and work with Cross functional teams like NOC, Engineering, Field and Allied functions to enhance Network Resiliency.
  • Knowledge of SDH, DWDM, Ethernet, ASON, PSS technology in line with the OEM deployed. ( Alcatel )
  • Expertise of Alcatel product line ( 1660,1662,1626,1678,1830 PSS )
  • Working knowledge of Alcatel 8.1 PL3, 1350 OMS.
Level DescriptorRelevant Experience: 6-10 years May be an individual contributor or may lead a team through application of deep knowledge of one job area or broad knowledge of several job areas within Service Assurance. Operational role, responsible for setting objectives and delivering results that have a significant impact within the context of a wider operational area. Identifies problems and updates or modifies working methods in own role without the benefit of defined procedures. May Provide first level of supervisory management to a work team that includes professional roles. May also supervise technical and administrative staff. Typically has no budget responsibility. Work-group/team focus.Purpose - Broad objective of the roleHas enough knowledge within Service Assurance to allow them to apply their knowledge efficiently and work productively with broad instruction. Regularly participate in Assurance calls or activities as a full contributing team member, is able to proactively identify important issues or risks, seeks the appropriate level of guidance and advice to ensure delivery of quality outcomes. Operational role which is responsible for delivering results that have direct impact on the achievement of results within Service Assurance. Works under direct and less supervision. Able to identify problems and provide inputs to improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques drawing from personal experiences and feedback. Has strong knowledge of Telecom Transmission like SDH, DWDM, OTN and ASON/MESH Technologies; Core and Access Topologies for NLD and Metro Network and awareness of NOC and Field processes. Actively acquires more complex skills, techniques, operating practices, knowledge of abstract concepts in order to progress toward full proficiency in the field of specialization. Has skills and knowledge that will allow them to adapt to effectively deal with unfamiliar issues, challenges, problems within their field of specialization.
