Industrial IoT Software Engineering Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to join the Industrial IoT development group. Sensata s Industrial business works closely with the industry s leading OEMs and End Users to provide advanced, differentiated remote monitoring and data insights for smart factories. Our products increase visibility into operations and provide deep insights in a broad range of applications all the way from sensing layer to predictive maintenance. You are someone with demonstrated success and industry experience in full stack software development (backend and frontend) and managing teams working on cloud platforms, software architecture and UI/UX development.-Key Responsibilities include:

• Execute IIOT strategy to deliver Industrial goals and product roadmap.
• Design, build and optimize components of our software and services offering.
• Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop our software.
• Coach software developers and develop their skills, manage their performance including reviews, career advancement etc.
• Report on status of development projects, software quality, operations, and overall system performance to management in the US.
• Help recruit, interview, and hire software developers.
• Manage daily activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Drive development process improvements and establish best practices to ensure highest quality software.

Position Requirements include:

• Ability to take product requirements and develop software architecture and lead implementation.
• Experience in building robust fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Understanding of developing software with systems-level performance constraints.
• Experience defining implementation plans and outlining technical feasibility tradeoffs.
• Familiarity with IoT technology stack and performance metrics.
• Experience with Java, web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, etc), multi-threaded programming, and data engineering.
• Self-motivated with a desire to improve and build new skill sets
• Must have excellent communication skills, the ability to work with diverse teams globally, sound problem solving skills and attention to detail

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s or master s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• A demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for software development
• 8 years experience building successful production software systems.
• 4 years management experience (including a combination of experience hiring, managing performance, and providing technical leadership.
