Job Description

In Eaton, making our work exciting, engaging, meaningful; ensuring safety, health, wellness; and being a model of inclusion & diversity are already embedded in who we are - it s in our values, part of our vision, and our clearly defined aspirational goals.We are looking forward for engineering manager to lead and shape RDE portfolio for Automation and Digital Solution (ADSEL) in Industrial Control & Protection (ICP) BU in Power Management and Control Components (PMCC) division of ES EMEA. Engineering manager will be responsible for Implementing strategies focus around Digitalization, Smart & Embedded Products. Build and leverage synergies between various PMCC products. Provides leadership in the development of Mobile & Web Apps, Embedded System. Works closely with teammates from Eaton India Innovation Center (Pune) and various ADS facilities in EMEA for New Product Developments, Cost out, sustaining and application engineering projects. Build Organization Capabilities Hire and development plans for the talents for ADS. Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and Technologies with specific focus on making them intelligent & smart. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define strategic roadmap for building strong breakers team and RDE portfolio on key product lines. Your essential responsibilities include:
    • Manages diverse product teams from multiple locations. Provides leadership for the team to meet its short and long-term goals. Define clear plan to leverage EIIC Lab and Prototype infrastructure to accelerate launches of key NPI/NTI programs for division.
    • Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and services. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define raodmaps & drive Innovation / technology roadmap for for PMCC ADS team.
    • Lead innovation events to shape ideas from the team.
    • Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in Embedded and Software design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering
    • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for Hardware, Firmware, Software and V&V Engineers and related COE team at EIIC to develop innovative Technology.
    • Individual should have understanding of electrical, electronic and mechanical designs for Programamble Logic Controller (PLC), circuit breakers product portfolio (MCB, MCCB) to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.
    • Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across groups. Manages department budget and performance to forecast.
    • Recruits and retain a team of engineers and support staff to provide both local product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs. Train, develop & motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals & review their accomplishments.
    • Develop and control the schedule and direct the work to effectively manage time.
    • Monitor progress & achievements on projects. Provide regular reports on development & support activities.
    • Manage and develop people: identify, attract and develop key engineering talent for the organization.
    • Utilizes DFSS & Agile concepts / tools for new product development &/or existing product improvements. Teach, Mentor and Coach DfX for EIIC engineering community.
    • Drive Functional excellence through Continuous improvement using CI methodology.
    • Champion DFX , Engg. Excellence deployment ensuring project health and contribute in planning per Pre-Prolauch requirements
    • Understand stakeholder requirements and communicate them to other Eaton teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate.
    Qualifications
    • BE/ME in Electronics, E&TC Engineering
    • 5+ years of design experience with Embedded systems
    • Min 5+ years of experience in coaching & mentoring people
    • Should have sound knowledge in Industrial Automation and Breakers products
    • Experience leading a team through all stages of the prodcut development cycle
    • Experience in EMI/EMC, White & Black Box Tessting, Certification & Re-certification Test
    • Hands on experience in product development leveraging DfX methodology
    • Engineering technical expertise to solve problems and make design recommendations
    • Knowledge in Agile ProLaunch and PreLaunch processes
    • Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in electro-mechanical design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering
    • Sound Analysis Mindset and drive DP maturity to enhance NPI efficacy
    • Sound knowledge of best practices in software engineering methodologies, processes, and technologies with a passion for programming
    • Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with design processes, program management skills, knowledge of customer strategies, successful new product introduction experience, creative/innovative thinking
    • Act as a technical mentor and expert tech reviewer in domain
    • Review and approve design proposals based on requirements /statement of work and present to stakeholders/customers

    • Continuously develop and enhance the technical capabilities of the teams to provide best in class design in line with present and future business needs
    • Monitor progress and achievements on projects. Provide timely status and reports to stakeholders
    • Participate in the creation of technology road map based on Product/COE Strategy globally and deploy them within the group and build organization s capability
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables.
    • Manage and develop talent: identifies, attracts and develop key engineering talent for the organization.
    • Drive employee survey action plans to attain high level of employee engagement & managerial effectiveness.
    • Drive culture of innovation with focus on new patent disclosures and high-impact ideas
