Cloud Architect / Lead

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing AWS infrastructure; AWS monitoring for cost optimization; AWS IAM and security solutions; AWS data storage such as EBS, EFS, S3 and management platforms; and business continuity
• Face-to-face interaction with clients to design cloud infrastructure solutions that address support new implementations or migrations of existing applications
• Leading, designing, developing, and providing oversight to the development team related to the cloud infrastructure design, testing and deployment for implementations and migrations
• Collaborate as a key member of the sales team to represent the solution offering to the client and align the proposed solution
• Manage and develop estimates for client implementations, timelines and overall planning
• Maintain technical skills and knowledge of market trends and competitive insights; collaborate and share with the technical community
• Ability to work natively in a mixed Windows/Linux environment and can fully comprehend and implement hybrid architectures
• Apply technical knowledge and client insights to create a modernization roadmap. Architect solutions to meet business and IT needs, ensuring technical viability of new projects and successful deployments, while orchestrating key resources and infusing key Infrastructure technologies Windows and Linux IaaS, Security, Networking, etc.), and DevOps technologies (containers, serverless, cloud native, etc.) as appropriate
• Design and maintain solutions that adhere minimally to NIST Security Standards

Consulting:

• Develop deep relationships with key customer IT decision makers, who drive long-term cloud adoption within their company to enable them to be cloud advocates. Ability to establish effective working relationships in a team environment
• Participate in pre-sales calls, lead technology discussions and whiteboarding sessions
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
• Versatility, flexibility, and proactivity when resolving technical issues and dealing with ambiguity
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, and managers
• Commitment to quality and on-schedule delivery; proven ability to establish and meet milestones and deadlines
• Ensure all solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment
• Understand clients overall applications portfolio, IT and business priorities and success measures to design implementation architectures and solutions
• Manage and develop estimates for client implementations, timelines and overall planning

Requirements:

• AWS certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
• Ability to write infrastructure as code with Terraform, Cloud Formation, Packer or Ansible
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps Pipelines, AWS CodeDeploy or Jenkins
• 3+ years working in an AWS cloud hosted environment in the Solution Architect role

• Strong knowledge of Amazon s Well-Architected Framework
• Strong knowledge of configuration management tools specifically Git
• Strong scripting abilities (Python, Bash, Powershell)
• Experience working with containers (EKS, ECS, Docker or Kubernetes)
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for application build and promotion
• Object oriented programming (Python, Java, Go, C++)
• Database knowledge - RDS (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Oracle, MS-SQL)
• 6+ years minimum experience in Business Process Consulting, problem definition, Architecture/Design/Detailing of Processes
• Experience leading the implementation, validation and deployment of scalable cloud infrastructure
• Planning and tracking complex projects, and demonstrated ability to lead teams in rapidly changing environments
• Good written and oral communication skills and capable of tailoring complex messages into simplified and business applicable material for key stakeholders
• Must be willing to travel up to 50%
