L3 - BIW - Sheet Metal Designer
BIW - Sheet Metal design Functional reporting toJob Role Responsibilities
Role: BIW Design Engineer
Design and development of BIW Parts like
Upper Body- Side Body, Roof
Hood, Fenders (Hang- on Parts)
Co- ordination with CAE team for strength analysis of BIW parts, able to interpret results and providing countermeasures.
Co- ordination with testing for successful physical validation of BIW parts, Manufacturing for DFM/DFA resolution, styling dept for design/mfg inputs.
Co- ordination with other design teams related to mounting scheme of aggregate parts.
VAVE studies in BIW parts.
Root cause analysis and resolution for internal testing, field and production issues.
Interaction with suppliers and toolmakers for the development of new product to achieve desired quality for the physical testing of design.

DFMEA/DIDs, DVP etcCompetency Requirements
Initiative, Desire to LearnEffective communication skills

Specific expertise required for functional area:
Experience in BIW parts design
Teamcenter Engineering or PLM system
Understanding of GDT principles
Knowledge in tooling fixturing, Materials, BIW joineries, etc.
Exposure to relevant design standards
Exposure to Trends in Manufacturing
Exposure to relevant regulations preferred (Current, Future)
Desired Candidate : i) Educational QualificationB.E / B. Tech Mechanical Engineering from TIER Colleges / Institute with minimum 60 % marks
