In this unique role, the Senior Editorwill be responsible for planning, commissioning, and developing content for the SI editions published by Pearson. This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of Pearsons best Higher Education titles globally, customize them to suit the needs of various international markets, and to see them through right from planning and content creation to their development and production.Candidates in this role will work closely with colleagues in Editorial, Production, Marketing, Sales, and Digital Media around the world. The Senior Editor will be responsible for the SI editions and the digital products and platforms that accompany them.Key ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and maintaining a publishing plan and commissioning priorities for the SI editions programmeWorking with publishing colleagues around the world to establish frontlist schedules, new-edition plans, and manage backlist titlesCommissioning contributors to convert the content for the SI editions and their associated supplements and digital productsManaging and developing vendors and freelancers to ensure that manuscripts are assessed, copy-edited, and prepared for production thoroughlyEstablishing strong and clear communication with Pearson colleagues around the world to track and manage project schedules, provide regular status reports, update Pearson editorial/production management systems, and to drive the SI editions programme forward at all timesWorking with authors, contributors, acquisitions editors, development editors, vendors, text and cover designers, and production colleagues to ensure that the SI-edition content meets the highest accuracy, quality, time, and cost standardsChecking cover designs, copy, and proofs at all stagesJob descriptionIn this unique role, the Senior Editorwill be responsible for planning, commissioning, and developing content for the SI editions published by Pearson.
