Job Description

Food Inspectors monitor food manufacturers, distributors, and processors for compliance with safety and sanitation regulations and report any violations of such to the appropriate authorities. Resumes in this field highlight such duties as creating and implementing food safety programs, and keeping records of inspections, temperature logs, and references used for inspection. While some states offer trainee programs for candidates with a combination of education and work experience, example resumes show that those interested in becoming federal Food Inspectors need to have a bachelors degree or equivalent field experience, as well as the successful passage of a written examination.
