Job Description

*Objectives of the Position:

  • To take responsibility for Analytics Services for Research and BUs in Innovation Campus (IC).
  • To lead the Analytics Team for meeting targets of research groups (RBA, RCS) and BUs
Main Tasks
  • Solve analytical problems for a diversified project portfolio, including complex small molecules, polymers and materials. Profound scientific knowledge is mandatory to fulfil this task, i.e. track record and state-of-art knowledge on a wide range of analytical technics (focus: spectroscopy and chromatography) and physico-chemical screening methods.
  • Lead and manage a team of 15 employees, predominantly analytical scientists.
  • Further develop the analytical services portfolio in line with the strategic development of IC s project portfolio.
  • Anticipate future project needs and acting on it, i.e. recruitment of talent, development, training, establishment of know-how, OPEX, CAPEX, consumables.
  • Responsible for people management and allocation of resources as per project and customer demand.
  • Active membership of IC Mumbai Management Team.
  • Responsible for talent acquisition, training, development of subordinates for high quality and productivity, providing analytical solutions to research and BUs and to meet project timelines.
  • Responsible for active communication and collaboration (technical as well as administrative) among research units to achieve synergies regarding quality of analytical results and cost.
  • Act as a front runner in all safety related issues at IC.
  • Responsible as floor warden for safe operations at ground floor in IC. Educate and develop people as area warden, first aider, fire fighter.
  • Responsible for OPEX as well as CAPEX budgeting and adherence to the budgets.
  • Responsible for data input to ALMS and other data storage systems.
  • Drive digitalization in Analytics (e.g. LIMS).
  • Collaborate with Competence Centre Analytics (LU) for establishing similarity in operations and transfer of know-how to IC.
  • Collaborate with BUs and manufacturing sites and support each other.
  • Collaborate with local outsourcing labs and academia to provide services and capacity not available in-house.
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
  • Ph.D. & industry experience in leadership role of minimal 5 years
