Job Description

The Shift Engineer /Manager will be responsible for managing shifts at the Mysuru plant of a well-established Rigid Plastics Manufacturer. The incumbent will ensure production and manufacturing targets, within the Quality parameters, with the products delivered On time in Full (OTIF) with Zero Defects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead day to day job as per schedule and manage all the employees assigned in the production plant
  • Overseeing the production process, drawing up a production schedule.
  • Ensuring that the production is cost effective by understanding and reacting to the wider needs of the business versus those of the Plant.
  • Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality.
  • Working out the human and material resources needed; draw timescale for the job.
  • Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.
  • To ensure the plant and equipment is implemented and maintained in accordance with Engineering standards, local and statutory legislation,
  • Maintain, manage, and ensure the smooth functioning of Plastic injection moulding and Extrusion blow moulding machines.
  • Troubleshoot injection moulding and Extrusion Blow moulding issues
  • Reduce wastage, reduce costs, and increase profitability of the manufactured products by identifying areas of improvement and implementing innovative manufacturing processes.
  • Adhere to ISO systems, Health & Safety legislation.
  • Working as the part of operation management team, develop and lead the continuous improvement activities within the team
  • To ensure that safety and quality are a key element of the manufacturing culture.
  • Liaising among different departments, e.g. accounts, purchase, store, tool room, QC/QA
  • Working with managers to implement the companys policies and goals.
  • Build and develop relationships at all levels across the manufacturing function to spark ideas for continuous improvement
Qualifications
  • A qualified graduate with specialization in plastics
  • Possess 10+ years of experience in Plastics industry, with proven ability of independently managing shifts
  • Well versed in production techniques of Blow moulding with emphasis on Extusion Blow moulding.
  • Expertise in Injection Moulding
