Job Description

Position serves as a knowledge partner for the learning, development and recruiting topics through implementation of globally defined corporate programs and processes as well as developing local solutions on demand. Position works in close conjunction with Talent Acquisition Solution Partner to steer talent acquisition and management topics with focus on buiding talent pipeline for key roles in businesses, enabling succession management discussions, and supporting people managers with Merck s portfolio of learning and development tools and methodologies to help them develop their teams. Posiiton serves as point of contact for all Talent Development and Recruiting related activities in the market and takes support from Merck Business Services (MBS) organization for execution of all operational, logistics and routine matters.Scope of Responsibility

  • Total number of employees supported (in organization): 3000+
  • Number of locations responsible for: Approx 12 locations across India
Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for providing talent development and recruiting solutions to standard as well as unique requirements of businesses by using Merck s globally established talent management tools and processes
  • Drive the rollouts of global learning and development topics enabling the people managers and HR business partners to put them in to action
  • Based on business priorities and internal talent map, work with concerned stakeholders to build a data-based talent acquisition and development strategy
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition solution partner to develop a holistic succession plan, including internal / external talent bench for critical roles
  • Position talent development and recruiting as an integrated and holistic solution to businesses
  • Engage with business stakeholders to help develop individualized development plans for top talent, including nominations for management development programs and participation in external developmental interventions
  • Develop, deploy and monitor annual training / learning calendar for employees in Merck India (with support from MBS)
  • Pro-actively understand the emerging talent challenges in macro-eco system and its implications on Merck India s workforce to make proposals and suggestions for improvement in talent acquisition, development and retention
  • Provide leadership support to the function and be the key point of contact to address any escalations related to the learning process in the country.
  • Work with people managers and HRBPs to provide relevant inputs, feedback on topics related to new talent initiatives, talent market intelligence, as required to support the business need on talent management
  • Actively participate and lead country projects to strengthen people practices and processes.
  • Support regional talent development programs as required
  • Work with Market HR team to drive culture and change management aligned to global and business sectors
  • Collaborate with all functions of HR in the market, to participate and execute various initiatives to build a strong functional credibility and HR brand
  • Accountable for overall governance and adherence of the end to end TD process in the country
  • Serve as a conduit between country, region and global teams for any functional updates or feedback.
  • Comply with all Internal Control processes and audits in the Business as well as Company
  • Oversee administration of the project management aspects including the logistics for learning and development programs (contracts, travel, charge backs) through MBS
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
  • Bachelor s Degree in any discipline
  • Minimum 8 years overall experience in integrated Talent Development & Recruiting function with hands on learning management, talent acquisition and people development experience.
  • Experience of working with external service providers
  • Exposure of working in a matrixed and a global environment with diverse stakeholders across multiple time-zones
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly with different functions within HR and with other functions within the company.
  • Should have a strong learning orientation, results-drive mind-set and approach to execution.
