Founded in 1998, Gracenote is one of America s most iconic and respected media companies.Job PurposeOur database estate consists of SQL Server and Azure Cosmos DB databases in severaldifferent environments.We are in the process of refreshing our technology stack which willresult in greenfield project work.The database administrator will be responsible in maintaining performance, security, integrity, recovery and scalability of the SQL Server, Azure SQL Database and Cosmos DBdatabase environments.Job ResponsibilitiesMaintain the integrity and performance of the various environments through maintenanceroutines.Ensure backups and recoverability of databases.Maintain the high availability and disaster recovery (HADR) systems including performingfailover and failback.Troubleshoot SQL Agent jobs and SSIS / DataFactory package failures.Production monitoring of performance, capacity and scalability including raising archivingrequirements.Software release deployment and operational script deployment from other IT teams.Database code review.Database source control governance.Responsible for environment database refreshes.Control access permissions and privileges.Continual performance tuning and optimisationSQL patching and version upgrades.Project work such as disaster recovery site upgrades and database migrations.Maintain and enhance technical documentation.Providing operational DBA support in our near 24 / 7 environment.Role RequirementsE=essential, P=preferredE - 3 - 5 years of Microsoft SQL Server Administration with production support experience.Knowledge of Microsoft Clustering and Hyper - V virtualisation conceptsSQL Server Reporting Services AdministrationSSIS Package AdministrationAlways On Availability GroupsSQL ReplicationP - Familiar with unstructured databases such as CosmosDB.P - Familiar with JSON and XML.P - Familiar with Redgate ToolsE - Familiar with Powershell,
