Job Description

    • Working with the Singapore based location team to support fulfilment of strategic priorities relating to location initiatives
    • Support the development of senior updates and reporting relating to progress made on location related initiatives (this may include MT, senior committees updates, paper writing, PowerPoint presentations for ad-hoc committees and regulatory communications)
    • Support for project management activities as part of location relevant initiatives (e.g. development of delivery plans, governance over location changes, forecasting and communication with other workstreams that have a location dependency)
    Strategy
    • Support risk productivity programme to embed effective ways of working and support smoother project and programme delivery
    • Define and implement the processes and controls to support the programme
    • Ensure ongoing alignment of work to strategic priorities and benefits
    Business
    • The requirement of this role is to provide delivery expertise, coordination and governance support across a major, group-wide productivity programme focused specifically on supporting ongoing location strategy work. The successful candidate will be an experienced programme or portfolio management officer with prior involvement in large, complex initiatives or programmes of work that require an ability to balance a range of senior stakeholder relationships and responsibilities.
    • This role is positioned in a location optimisation workstream and will support stakeholders and project managers on delivery and governance activities relating to the expansion of capability and capacity in strategy support location, many of which will have a global reach. The role will be Singapore based but will need to work remotely and across regions and time zones (mainly programme team members and stakeholders based in Singapore, United Kingdom, Europe and America).
    Processes
    • Deploy the defined core project management processes in accordance with Bank-wide standards
    • Leverage and embed internal standards on location optimisation, especially in relation to governance activities that are essential to successful location migration/building shared service capability in strategic offshore locations
    • Operationalise adherence to standards including development of a culture of process discipline and reporting by exception
    • Interpret the reporting outcomes to provide delivery assurance to accountable executives and senior stakeholders and identify where intervention is necessary
    • Intervene to resolve issues or escalate as appropriate to the project assurance function or Programme Manager
    • Research best practices and develop proactive approach to identify opportunities for further improvements and maturation of the delivery models
    People and Talent
    • Expert knowledge of PM disciplines (planning, reporting, risk management, QA, document management, financials, resource management, stage controls, stakeholder management and governance)
    • Strong experience in location optimisations initiatives, especially relating to operational and support capability/capacity in strategic offshore locations (e.g. India, Poland, Malaysia etc)
    • Dynamic presentation and communication skills to ensure clear messaging/support for senior leaders
    • Prior involvement in transformation initiatives (e.g. location strategy, organisation design, digitisation)
    • Strong understanding of agile ways of working and benefit management
    • Excellent facilitation skills to connect workstreams and stakeholders to strategic objectives/plans
    • Ability to drive execution of PM tasks, and courage to escalate where required

    Risk Management
    • Support the effective implementation of risk management framework and highlight any issues in a timely manner
    • Coach Project Managers in the effective Risk Management to ensure effective delivery of outcomes
    • Active management of the risk profile across the assigned programmes, working with Programme Manager and Project Managers with further escalation as required.
    Governance
    • Understand the risk and control environment involved in area of responsibility and support rectification as required

    Our Ideal Candidate
    • 12 years of experience in project delivery in a delivery or portfolio focused role, ideally in the professional services or fast moving, complex organisations/industry
    • Stakeholder management experience working with senior level stakeholders
    • Proven experience with co-ordination of many dependencies and multiple demanding stakeholders
    • Rigorous approach to management of project delivery methodology
    • Leadership skills to coach, co-ordinate and grow a successful delivery team
    • Excellent presentation skills
    Role Specific Technical Competenices
    • Expert knowledge of Project Management disciplines (planning, reporting, risk management, QA, documentation, financials etc.).
