Job Description

    Position: Manager - DEFCOMQualification: MBA, CS, CA, LLBExperience: 4 to 8 yearsLocation: MumbaiKey Responsibility:1. Activities handled pursuant to declaration of Defaulter, Expulsion of Trading Member
    • Call for books and records from defaulter, expelled member.
    • Realization of defaulters assets.
    • Identify dues to Exchange, Clearing Corporation and SEBI.
    • Receive investor claims against the defaulter, expelled member.
    • Seek details regarding the observations made during the inspection process and correlate various claims with inspection report.
    • Seek comments of Defaulter, Expelled member on list of claims as received by the Exchange.
    • Seek details from Depositories and Banks regarding the defaulter, expelled members DP accounts and bank accounts.
    • Issue of Public Notice for defaulting members inviting claims
    • Obtain NOCs from all relevant departments.
    2. Handle investor claims for defaulting, expelled
    • Scrutinize and ensure that old claims received have been adequately supported by necessary documents such as contract
    • To perform all activities including processing of investor claims pertaining to Defaulter, Expelled members, to ensure smooth functioning of the
    • Defaulters Committee Section and adherence to the various byelaws, rules, regulations and TAT as prescribed by the Relevant Authority from time to time.
    • Trading members notes, proof of payment, demat account statement, ledger account statement, etc. In case of incomplete claims, seekadditional information including supporting details and documents.
    • Retrieving of trade data from DWH as and when required
    • Identify clients with debit balances and instructing them to repay
    • Reconciling the balances with statement provided by Inspection team
    3. DC, IPF Agenda, Minutes and Implementation of outcome of meetings
    • Collate all the claims and other items to be placed before the Defaulters Committee (DEFCOM) and Trustees of Investor Protection Fund (IPFT) at the quarterly meetings.
    • Finalization of agenda
    • Finalization of minutes of the meetings.
    • Inform Accounts department of the payments to be made through IOM for old cases.
    4. Publish MIS and SEBI reports.
    • Checking of fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports.
    • Checking of daily MIS sent to HOD, SEBI
    5. Handle queries from regulators and investors
    • Draft reply to the emails of aggrieved investors whose claims are found to be inadmissible
    • Collate relevant data to draft the report in response to the queries raised by regulators like SEBI, EOW, MOF, Police.
    • Assisting the data entry staff and auditors with respect to technical issues and co-ordinating with IT team
    6. Periodic Clean up activity and system development initiatives
    • Collate data, information regarding held securities, pending payments, pending money to be released at regular intervals and postthis on the website.
    • Discuss the actions needed to be taken for the pending activities with the manager.
    • Suggest new initiatives, changes that can lead to improvement of processes in the department and implement the same.
    • Assisting the team in UAT testing and other development activities
    7. Withheld Securities
    • Maintain records of all securities withheld on behalf of
    • Defaulter, Expelled members.
    • Maintain the corporate benefits received and ensure credits to the respective Defaulter/Expelled members account.
    • Ensure that the Defaulters Committee is updated of all relevant developments pertaining to withheld securities.
    • Obtain Board, relevant approvals for change in authorized signatories to carry out necessary activities.
    8. Audit
    • Assist in the internal audit conducted annually for DCS, IPFT sections.
    • Collate data for SEBI audit.
