Job Description

    The Role Responsibilities This role is responsible for leading the Early Careers agenda across the AME and Functions areas of the business. Partnering closely with business stakeholders to ensure that the early careers and talent accelerator proposition supports the development of the junior talent pipeline. Leading a small team this role will oversee the school leaver, student and junior talent pipelines (and supporting programmes, combining local market knowledge and demands with our global proposition. Strategy
    • Partner with the Head, Early Careers and Talent Accelerators, and other members of the leadership team to shape and execute the overall Talent and Resourcing Strategy for the Bank
    • Design the resourcing strategy for early careers in a specified region / business / function in a way that is aligned with the global agenda whilst also meeting the needs of local market nuances
    • Create and execute employer brand and marketing strategies for your remit ensuring alignment with global brand and employer brand strategy and standards, while addressing local market nuances
    • Provide direction to key stakeholders on local market needs and requirements to ensure promotion of programmes, messaging and visual identity increases brand awareness and strength of candidate pipeline across a specific region / business / functional area while integrating into the overall early careers and talent accelerators proposition
    Business Partnering
    • Partner with key stakeholders in a specific region / business / functional areas to plan and execute the early careers proposition in line with Bank wide standards
    • Establish routine measurement practices to monitor the effectiveness and return on investment in early career and talent accelerator initiatives and create ways to report and monitor progress
    • Partner with local HR teams to embed early careers talent pools into local talent management practices to ensure effective deployment of early carers and accelerator talent
    • Own and drive relevant alumni activity in line with Bank wide standards, supplementing global activity with local engagement and communications activity where required
    • Provide advisory and business partnering support to local stakeholders in the design and execution of locally led early careers and talent accelerator initiatives
    Early Careers Proposition
    • Overall responsibility for strength and health of early careers candidate pipeline in a specific region / business / functional area. Ensuring diverse candidate pipelines are actively managed to meet the skills needed by the business
    • Provide oversight and quality assurance of all campus hiring activities, including business participation in marketing, recruitment and selection activities while aligning with employer branding team on regional requirements and translating them into sustainable initiatives
    • Plan and execute strategies to continuously improve candidate experience and engagement throughout the early careers recruitment cycle, in partnership with Lead, Early Careers Resourcing and leadership team
    • Ensure the team is managing all programme requirements for talent accelerator programmes. Including but not limited to rotation planning, allocation of buddies, ongoing assessment, engagement events, inductions etc and create platforms for report back/senior visibility and alignment to business/market practises
    • In partnership with the Lead, Talent Accelerators, manage any local country requirements that will support and enhance the global talent accelerator proposition and / or address any individual market needs. Eg) attrition/ localisation agendas/untapped talent pools etc
    • Manage the Bank s pay / performance cycle for colleagues participating in the International Graduate programme to ensure pay principles are aligned with the Fair Pay Charter
    Processes
    • Discharge Country Risk Owner responsibilities for relevant HR processes as required, ensuring appropriate first line responsibilities are upheld at all times
    • Establish and run the operating routine, resource allocation and portfolio management of the Early Careers portfolio in a specific region / business / functional area. Ensuring alignment with flexible, dynamic ways of working that maximise productivity and impact of the function
    • Build capability and drive operational / delivery disciple to ensure projects and workstreams are delivered in line with strategic priorities and the agreed book of work
    People and Talent
    • Responsible for managing and recruiting staff in the team, ensuring adequate capacity and focus on building an inclusive and innovative culture that is underpinned by sustainability and conduct
    • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback, recognition and reward in collaboration with risk and control partners that reflect individual and team performance against agreed objectives
    • Lead by example in setting tone and expectations of colleagues that is consistent with the Valued Behaviours. Clearly define priorities and individual objectives for direct reports and virtual teams. Connect objectives and growth plans with strategic priorities of the Bank and colleague aspirations
    • Lead indirect and matrix teams (including third party sourcing partners) to deliver specific projects and deliverables as determined by the relevant scorecard metrics and agreed functional priorities
    • Prioritise development of talent to contribute to building strong leadership team succession pipeline for key roles in Talent.
    Risk Management
    • Ensure effective first line identification, management, monitoring and reporting of risks is undertaken in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) in a way that is consistent with the authority and responsibilities of the role
    • Effective management of operational risks and compliance with all applicable internal policies, external laws and regulation
    Governance
    • Ensure adherence to the Group Student Hiring Standard (or other related policies and standards) and operational processes governing student hiring
    • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
    • Assess the effectiveness of the team s governance, oversight and controls and, if necessary, propose/implement changes in these areas
    • Use data and reporting to track success measures and impact of early careers hiring, ensuring appropriate oversight of strategic and operational effectiveness metrics that are used to ensure flow of quality candidates in the recruitment pipeline
    • Engage with relevant audit report findings and ensure feedback is acted upon
    • Ensure that all approved HR investments and capital / project expenditure are managed within the agreed enterprise project management standards
