Job Description

    *MS Investment Management Technology (IMIT)Morgan Stanley Investment Management Technology exclusively partners with the Morgan Stanley Investment Management business division to design and develop systems and integrate vendor products to globally support full life cycle business processing. Activities include Portfolio Analysis, Risk, Trading, Operations, and Sales & Marketing. Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) Technology also provides holistic support and quality assurance across the suite of applications used in the MSIM environment.Opportunity with the teamMorgan Stanley is seeking an experienced full stack engineer to join the Fixed Income Front Office Technology team. The individual will work as part of the global development team, which is spread across 2 MSIM sites. The individual will help the team design, develop a modern technology stack to power our digital platforms aimed unlocking efficiencies for our Investment Teams, Quants and traders. As a front office developer, the individual will also work closely with the Fixed Income front office team to solve operational problems and design strategic solutions to offer best class technology solutions to our Investment teams. The Senior Full Stack Developer will support the Fixed Income & Liquidity business working on infrastructure at the interface of investment decision-making and automated trading. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Lead the offshore Fixed income development teamManaging communication and partnering with our end usersExpand existing applications, trade processing and PM reporting systems (Finception)Identify, design and implement internal process improvements that automate manual processes to achieve scalability and cost-reductionWork across all aspects of the product life cycle: design, development, deployment and end-user support. Designing and develop applications using technologies mentioned belowParticipating in our agile ceremonies and actively driving towards the teams goals. Working independently using modern software development practices.Working collaboratively with a global team of technologists and Fixed Income businessLeading with ideas and innovation.Managing communication and partnering with our end users to design solutions.Required Education, Qualifications, and Key Skills:Education:Degree in Computer Science or in a typical STEM field, such as Engineering or MathematicsExperience:Over 10 years in Java and related technologies (Sprint Boot/Spring cloud) --- Must be familiar with Java 8 & 11Experience with UI technology - AngularFamiliar with relational database/ SQL and No-SQL database (MongoDB)Familiar with Linux/Unix systems, *Required Skills:Strong understanding and familiarity working in the Linux operating environmentFamiliarity with build automation and continuous integration tools, Maven, Gradle and JenkinsExperience working with microservices and distributed systems.Experience working directly with end users.Strong understanding of Fixed Income financial markets Strong computer science fundamentals.Experience writing unit, component and integration testsAt least 10+ years of experience Additional Skills:Python knowledgeExperience of distributed messaging and stream process using the following software/tools:o Apache Spark --- Minimum version 3.xo Apache Kafka
