Job Description

    Job Responsibilities :.Provide a realistic assessment of a prospect / acreage from Petroleum System perspective. Gather information about a region/basin/acreage/play via interactions with internal stakeholders (tectonic experts, biostratigrapher, sequence stratigrapher etc.); Compile data related to heat flow, source rock, pressure, fluid, reservoir; Interpret the compiled data; Create Petroleum System model (building burial history curve); Interpret Output data to draw suitable conclusions regarding the prospects and get it ratified with respective department.
    • Regional Geological framework integration: Validate and update Regional Petroleum system to provide understanding of Source Rock Distribution
    • Regional Scale source rock distribution model : Compile and validate source rock information, surface geochemical data, paleo-geographic, depositional and tectonic information; Interpret and analyse source-oil/oil-oil, gas characterization with help of biomarker and isotope data in order to build source rock model.
    • Modelling Pore Pressure : Compile and QC the Petro physical data, background operational information to provide 1D and 3D pore pressure model
    • Modelling Heat Flow : Carryout heat flow modelling for geothermal play and provide pre drill temperature estimates to operational team.
    • Source rock maturity and hydrocarbon charge modelling : Build the charge model and calibrate with existing geological model; Predict fluid phase and expulsion timing. In order to identity charge focus and economic viability of the reservoir.
    • Documentation and presentation: Prepare Presentation / Reports for Management / OC / MC meetings; Prepare & present analysis for peer review. In order to prepare stage gate/process improvement documents for necessary approvals.

    • Master degree in Geology from reputed university
    Experience Requirement :
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Petroleum System Modeling
    Skills & Competencies :Able to build 1D, 2D and 3D Petroleum System Model using PetroMod software. Knowledge on source rock geochemistry (Core), Fluid geochemistry (oil/water /gas), Biomarker analysis and interpretation, Sedimentology, Biostratigraphy, Tectonics, Seismic Interpretation and GIS mapping. .,
