Responsibilities:
Position Description
Be part of a team that actively develops and supports the evolving Global Data Governance Program that focuses on Data Cataloging, Data Quality, and Data Governance metrics. We are building a foundation for a Global Data Governance capability that will enable a data driven culture at GMI. This individual will fill a critical role in ensuring that Data is accurately and regularly documented, establishing measurements to gauge the health of the Data Governance Quality processes, consulting and partnering with business partners to put appropriate KPIs and scorecards in place for Master Data other critical/high priority domains and participating on various projects to ensure consistency across the organization.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of Global Data rules and quality metrics in partnership Data Stewards, Data SMEs, and client and stakeholder groups across GMI for existing and new data sets
Own processes for monitoring and reporting Governance compliance
Create high-level Data Quality Data Governance Framework Health reports for Senior Leadership for Master Data and Enterprise Critical Domains
Partner with Master Data Process Owners, Data Stewards and Data SMEs to operationalize, monitor, and evolve Data Quality processes, metrics and KPIs
Become company experts in using, advancing and educating others on Data Governance tools like Concento/Alation, Information Steward, and other solutions as appropriate
Evaluate and recommend changes to Global Data Quality tools and processes to enable a sustainable and measurable governance practice
Educate and mentor Data Owners, Data Stewards and Data SMEs across GBS and the business to ensure sustainability of Data Governance Stewardship practices at GMI
Required Skills/Experience
Proven experience with Data Cataloging, Data Quality and Data Management tools, such as Alation, Concento, Information Steward, SAP or other MDM solutions
Experience in managing and delivering medium-large projects or programs
Data-driven, detail-oriented workstyle that can be persistent in driving towards finding
Curious and willing to ask challenging questions when not necessarily a subject matter expert
Analytical mindset with ability to grasp complex data sets and to identify patterns or critical data elements
Ability to visualize and create reports that tell the story behind the quality of the data and be able to effectively share the message with leadership
Self-starter and self-motivated requiring little support from others
Preferred Skills/Experience
Experience with SAP Master Data Domains
Demonstrated knowledge of Data Governance strategies and processes
Database development or query-building experience
Tableau or other visual reporting experience
