Job Description

A leading shipping company is looking for the below person :

  1. Main Objectives of this position:
Attending customer request and processing the booking by retrieving rates, analysing inventory level and CL2 as per preferred routing for quality and timely service.
  1. Functions and Duties:
Main Tasks General Create general and special shipments by retrieving the ratesReceive, evaluate and administer update requests from CustomersMonitor booking issuance in terms of allocation, CL2, booking instructions from SSTFollow-up with customers for bookings (for missing details).For general (in time bookings) check type of cargo (BB/DG/OOG), equipment and slot availabilityVerify AMS/ACI self-filers Automated NVO ShipmentsRetrieve Revenue from FIS RA and create additional charges according local tariffCo-ordinate with Sales and Sales support for pending/missing RA.Liaise with Operations and SalesSupport Tasks Attend customer requirements from booking request until departure of vesselReview AMS manual on HIP to trouble shoot and answer questionsAdvise transhipment status to customer, if requestedUpdate customers on schedule/cut-off changesSend short shipment (shut-out) notices to customers.Liaise with ED for container placement and container linkagesClean up system after vessel departure i.e. tallying bookings on FIS with the port onboard report.Check DG acceptance. In case of cargo denials from Hazmat desk contact customer for further details. Update DG details until cargo is accepted confirm booking, create and send booking confirmationFollow up with customers for bookings placed, but container not yet picked
  1. Qualifications and Technical Job Requirements:
Industry Knowledge 5+ years industry experience in transportation industryExpert knowledge of Documentation requiredExtensive background in handling customer documentation requiredCommitment to deliver excellence in documentationAttention to detailManagement experience requiredBusiness Systems/ITExpert knowledge of user application systems (FIS, MS Office, Word, Excel)Expert knowledge of user application systems (FIS, COMPASS (if applicable)Process knowledge & systems support optimizationAbility to promptly process data and request under pressureManagement of data quality benchmarking and KPI management
