CIB Operations (GLOBAL EQUITIES OPERATIONS) TRANSFORMATION - Mumbai Senior Associate J.P. Role Description The Mumbai Equities Operations Transformation team is part of the Global Equities Operations Team.Equities Operations spans multiple business units within the Corporate Investment Bank, including: Global Clearing, Equities Derivatives Group, Cash Equities, Prime Cash & Synthetic, and Stock Borrow Loan.The team manage implementation of change into operations from industry-driven change, regulatory rules, strategic and business initiatives for the Mumbai region and globally. In this role, team members interface daily with counterparts in Equities Business, Technology, and Operations. Initiatives covered include
• Strategic system implementation / re-engineering
• New products and markets
• Efficiencies and control
• Business process improvements across Operations, Front Office & Technology
• Client offerings & strategies
• Regulatory change
Summary of Responsibilities
• Direct, lead and manage workload of direct reports in the Mumbai GEO Transformation team in coordination with other GEO Transformation Regional, Line of Business and Program leads to deliver the global Book of Work
• Recruit, and Mentor team members to cultivate their skills in role core competencies
• Project Lead managing the delivery of projects for Global Equities Operations, including: requirement gathering, managing execution of test strategies, and go-live preparation in accordance with the Team s best in class protocols
• Role encompasses business analysis to identify, assess, and articulate near-term business needs, advise businesses on options, risks, and costs of technology solutions versus benefits
• Proactively communicate global and local business requirements/priorities to key stakeholders; solicit feedback and obtain sign-off on project documentation.
• Facilitate implementation of new functionality through training sessions, demos, and the development of training material.
• Regular presentation of project progress, risks, and issues to diverse groups of senior management
• Improving our team s use of Project data, incorporating into management presentations and trend analyses, using MIS applications (Including Qlikview and similar Alteryx and Tableau)
• Work closely with Trading, Product Development, Business Managers and Middle Office Leads to understand their needs and priorities.
• Coordinate and collaborate across business and technology functions to ensure comprehensive solutions are delivered.
• Define and manage the scope of projects, anticipating issues and proactively recommending solutions.
• Perform root cause analysis to distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
• Scope, elicit, analyse and document business requirements using a variety of techniques and tools.
• Keep your stakeholders and project teams engaged & motivated.
• Ownership and delivery of your portfolio of initiatives
Skills and Qualifications
• At least 5 years experience working in the financial industry, understanding of Equity Derivatives and BA/PM skills as a must. Knowledge of regulatory landscape a big plus.
• Experience managing small, medium, and large scale projects from inception through completion independently, utilizing Project Management / Business Analyst / Design skills
• Manage Large-Scale Tests, with Hands-on UAT experience, to orchestrate multiple workstreams for Status Tracking, Reporting, Defect Management and Issue resolutions
• Excellent Project Management skills with a track record in delivering complex projects on behalf of Front Office / Operations / Technology.
• Ability to analyze and document complex current state and future state processes using BPM tools.
• Experience with data analytics; using analytics tools to understand large volumes of data and use it to make decisions.
• Experience of preparing for and running UAT.
• Good understanding of trade processes and flows.
• Excellent problem solving skills to identify, understand and address operational and technical issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including senior executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
• A self motivated individual, able to deliver with minimal supervision, whilst working effectively in a team.
• Ability to work independently and perform in a flexible work environment
• Fluency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and SharePoint
• Deep skills with regards to creation of Business Requirement Documents, Functional Specifications, and Test Plans.
• Strong public speaking and presentation experience to stakeholders
• Working experience with Clearing products and lifecycle, including: Futures, Options, OTC Derivatives, and margining
• Working experience with Equities products including: Equities Cash and Derivatives, Prime Cash and Synthetics, and Stock Borrow Loan
• Working experience with Data Science ,Data analytics, Machine Learning
