Job Description

    Business Support Management (BSM) is a function within CIB Finance & Business Management. The group is responsible for multiple levels of administrative and control-focused support to our CIB businesses. This includes, but is not limited to, oversight and management of Administrative Assistants and general support of day to day business functions and controls.The team interacts heavily with multiple lines of business (LOBs), Business Managers, CIB Asia and Global counterparts, as well as Internal Business Partners such as CIB Expense Management, Business Change Management, Compliance, Human Resources, Facilities and Technology.The mandate for Asia CIB BSM team has continued to grow as the business strategy in the region develops. BSM currently has a presence in the strategic locations Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Australia and China. With the firm s expansion plans involving India, this new position will enable the BSM Admin. Assistant Manager piece to develop in the location.Role and Responsibilities:We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced people manager to join our BSM team in Mumbai. Working within a great leadership group, the role will report into our APAC BSM Regional Co-Lead, based in Singapore and play a key role in ensuring the many businesses we support, have the required resourcing across their support needs.This busy role will require the management of approximately 30 Administrative Assistants across multiple lines of business. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate success in leading productive and motivated teams as well as possessing highly effective communication and relationship building skills across all levels. Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:
      • Understanding of various LOB support requirements and developing strong and continued relationships with key stakeholders regarding administrative support
      • Lead day to day team activities and manage coverage
      • Training and development
      • Effective and consistent communication across teams and LOBs
      • Develop and implement meaningful performance metrics
      • Motivate individual and team performance
      • Coach and mentor team; develop team leaders where appropriate
      • Enforce a dynamic control/ compliance environment and continually mitigate risk in business processes
      • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
      • Manage relationships with internal business partners across multiple LOB s (globally)
      • Provide thought leadership in strategic direction to improve productivity and leverage to the business
      • Build consensus around key initiatives
      • Advocate for your direct reports needs
      • Lead the performance management process for direct reports
      • Participate in managing a consistent compensation and evaluation process
    Key Skills / Candidate Profile:
    • Minimum 10-12 years experience in a similar role
    • A clear thinker who can demonstrate logical outcomes with strong problem solving skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Excellent organisation and time management skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Customer Service / Client facing experience
    • Ability to work with and manage change
    • Ability to demonstrate the utmost discretion and professionalism
    • Ability to build strong relationships, with good listening and influencing skills
    • A self-starter who consistently meets deliverables
    • Prior experience in an Investment Bank, Financial Institution or Professional services environment is preferred
    Other:
    • Potential to assist in ad hoc Business Support Management projects
    • Other responsibilities and tasks as delegated by BSM Singapore & Regional Leads
