Job Description

    Reporting to the Head of Securities FX, the candidate will be responsible for growing and managing the existing and prospective Securities FX clients with special focus on 3 rd Party FX and Currency Overlay. The candidate will be measured by their ability to develop direct and deep relationships with clients and be able to influence client behaviour. Responsible for the growth of the Securities FX business, the candidate is expected to develop an expertise of Restricted currency markets, understand client investment style /strategy and behaviour, ensuring the highest possible levels of client satisfaction, while focusing on creating client solutions. The candidate is expected to work closely with Trading, Sales, E-Sales, Operations and Service to ensure the smooth running of the product offering and develop and deliver new, innovative FX solutions for clients. Strategy
    • Build and expand sales relationships with European Institutional Investors & Intermediaries who trade FX at the back of EM Investments especially Equities, Fund Houses having Hedged Share Classes or Portfolio overlay requirement with the objective of developing and nurturing the Securities FX business in Europe.
    • Develop deep relationships with client contacts at all levels of seniority and provide clients with insight and perspective regarding industry trends and issues.
    • Develop product as per the needs of the clients and work together with FM sales / Coverage to maximise our Investors and Intermediaries share and total wallet. Penetrate Equity Investor Clients segment as defined by specific and clear quantitative measures
    • Attain revenue and market penetration goals
    • Broaden client relationships from cash FX to other value-added products such as Deliverable Onshore Forwards & Currency Overlay
    • Add value to SCB s (credit & rates) distribution
    • Develop a strong partnership with trading, sales, execution and coverage, create awareness and train them on the product offering
    • Attain full understanding of the Group s business strategy and model as appropriate to the role
    Business
    • Identifying target customers, both individually and by market sector.
    • Carrying out detailed data analysis and valuation.
    • Build and expand sales relationships with institutional Investor and Intermediary clients who deal in EM Investments and have multi currency distribution portfolio in Europe
      • This would include Equity, Rates, Credit & FX.
      • Generate new business from existing clients and source new clients based on relationships and through the use of market data.
    • Present FX solutions to existing and prospective clients
    • Effective pipeline management and coordination of sales efforts across European region
    • Enable clients on behalf of Sales, maintenance and liaising with all teams who form part of the onboarding process.
    • Liaise with clients to obtain client information and documentation
    • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Group operates
    Processes
    • Analyse client flows and work with pricing teams to optimize pricing and liquidity to achieve maximum monetization
    • Work with product teams to channel client feedback and ideas into new features and expand product scope to enrich client relationships and add value to the business
    • Working with a large number of clients who are likely to have different requirements
    • Competitive market that requires staying on top of client trading patterns and changes in market structure and regulations
    • Focus on year on year growth across client acquisition, revenue and volume

    Risk Management
    • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them.
    • The ability to interpret the Group s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures
    • Ensure miss matched or failed trades are dealt swiftly as per process, appropriate risk flags raised
    • Ensure client marketing & acquisition as per applicable rules in Europe

    • Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
    • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

    Key stakeholders
    • The role works closely with Sales, Trading, E-Sales, Client Services, Compliance, Legal and both internal and external clients to encourage maximum co-operation and growth of the FX business by bringing SCB footprint to the client and supporting client s business through SCB Securities FX Solutions
    Our Ideal Candidate
    • Must be a Degree holder (Bachelors degree in Finance / Management / Economics / General Business)
    • Experience in Foreign Exchange Sales and a solid understanding of Global Custody
    • Knowledge of FX markets, trading and trade lifecycle with strong operational experience
    • Good Understanding of Investors behaviour and challenges in Bonds and Equities Segment and distribution related processes
    • Analytical and commercial mindset to identify investment trends, opportunities
    • Fair Understanding of rules & regulations applicable to Emerging Market FX primarily Asian currencies
    • Client facing experience to understand the nature of the market participants which facilitates learning of overall financial markets
    • Relationship management skills - both internal and external
    • Keen awareness of market dynamics and related institutional client relationships
    • Effective communicator at all levels, excellent written and verbal presentation skills
    • Languages; i.e. Business English. No specific requirement of any other language
    • Experience in currency overlat strategy sales and operations preferred
