Job Description

Role Summary: The Area Medical Advisor Manager, Oncology will be a core member of the Oncology Medical Team in India and will actively contribute to the overall oncology BU medical strategies and develop and lead the medical strategies for field based medical team.The role requires skill sets for strategic medical leadership, strong scientific acumen in innovative portfolio and in building KOLs relationships and advocacy especially with Oncologist and Associations.The role represents our vision in becoming a trusted scientific partner who engages in relevant scientific exchange and delivers timely, high impact data and insights that advance the science or accelerate access, shape medical practice and drive appropriate adoption of our innovative medicines. The AMA Manager closely collaborates with the medical and commercial team, is actively involved in developing strategy, medical program development & execution, focusing specifically on field based medical projects as well as physician interactions and engagements. He/she acts as role model for the AMA team and proactively drives and leads the development, coaching and learning of the members in the Oncology AMA team.Primary Responsibilities The Area Medical Advisor Manager will partner closely with internal stakeholders such as medical advisors and commercial (marketing and sales) teams, also with Medical Information, Clinical development, legal and compliance as required to develop, lead and execute an integrated set of medical plans for field based medical team in alignment with medical and commercial for supporting the allocated Oncology portfolio at Pfizer India:External Partnerships:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in using available scientific resources and presentations. Acts as a role model and effectively coaches others to effectively present information to HCPs and respond to questions, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines and directives.
  • Lead the AMA team to do impactful scientific exchange with KOL s and provide significant knowledge and insight to Head Office medical team and local commercial organization to shape strategy.
  • Actively engage with key external stakeholders such as Key opinion leaders, patient associations, physician associations and regulatory bodies for customer insights, advocacy and relationship building in alignment with Pfizer policies and local regulations. Coach and guide the AMA team to enhance the skill in this area.
  • Ensure participation in key scientific congresses by self or team to disseminate or gather relevant scientific information for the portfolio.
  • Expert knowledge and continual assessment of the medical landscape & of the competitive landscape and actively prepares the team to address informational needs of customers.
Contribute to the Medical Plan:
  • Collaborate with the medical advisors and commercial team to understand the global and local medical strategies and brand plans for the entire portfolio and to build and lead the execution of scientifically meaningful medical and KOL engagement plans for field based medical team based on TA objectives in alignment with medical advisors.
  • As an integral member of the brand team proactively provide scientific input into the Medical and Brand Plan and lead the AMA team to execute relevant Medical Plan activities.
  • Adopt institution/account planning approach and contribute to cross-functional institution/account plans.
  • Be ultimately accountable for complying to all local policies, procedures and regulations for self and team in all activities relevant to the entire medical BU.
Support Clinical Trial Activities:
  • Support Interventional and Non-Interventional medical affairs studies e.g. identification and assessment of potential study sites and guide the team to support patient recruitment as required.
  • Develop and execute Information Dissemination Plan/Program for the AMA team for the clinical studies as required.
  • Supports the ISR process as agreed with local medical management. Coaches the AMA team on the process.
People Management:
  • Independently manage the coaching and development of the field based medical team.
  • Lead and mentor the team member reporting to him / her with overall responsibility for talent acquisition, development and retention.
