Job Description

  • Assist the regional GSAM teams and senior GSAM SSA team members in arriving at Enterprise Valuations with the objective to (a) providing inputs into impairment analysis; (b) proposing appropriate capital structure with sustainable debt levels; (c) developing negotiating strategy for an exit and/or restructuring.
  • Work on the Enterprise Valuation modeling & presentation based on information received from Clients and other industry specialists (Industry coverage teams, external advisors). Analyses includes: valuation models, cash flow analysis, debt repayment ability, recovery strategy assessment and impairment computation
  • Assist in single asset/portfolio sale transactions by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. To support GSAM teams globally for divestments.
Risk Management
  • Ensure that all risks are properly assessed and identified, including from Early Alert as appropriate.
  • Ensure that the Group s risk arising from litigation, environmental claims, regulatory censure or potential reputation loss with regard to early alert accounts and impaired accounts are minimized.

Key StakeholdersInternal:
  • GSAM Country teams, Client Coverage, Credit & Portfolio Management, Legal and Compliance, Financing Risk, Financial Markets and others as appropriate.
External:
  • Special situation investors funds, investment banks, debt trading market participants and new finance providers;
  • Restructuring Professionals and advisors;
Other Responsibilities
  • To work closely with other GSAM teams, Credit approvers, Client Coverage, Credit & Portfolio Management Legal and Compliance and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Foster team spirit and strengthen internal relationships, in particular in close conjunction with relevant country heads who retains overall accountability for the relevant portfolio.
  • Deal with advisors, consultants and other lenders as required.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • At least 2-3 years of corporate finance / Investment banking experience. Restructuring / funds experience is a nice to have. Overall work experience should be less than 5 years.
  • MBA in finance / CA or CFA certification is required
