Your Role and Responsibilities Database Administrator are the gatekeepers to the many systems that run our company and our clients. As a Database Administrator with IBM, you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of our business by ensuring integrity of, and access to, our most important resource data.• Install and maintain database servers.• Manage and monitor DR Databases.• Manage and monitor Always on Replication servers.• Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.• Install, upgrade, patching and manage database servers.• Manage database access.• Be available for on-call support as needed.Required Technical and Professional Expertise • 5 years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field• Experience in Windows Server environments.• Extensive experience with one or more database technologies• Primary Skill: MS SQL• Secondary Skills: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB• Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools• Advanced knowledge of Always on High Availability Group server and log shipping replication DR.• Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.• Understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling.Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise • PowerShell scripting skills.• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements• Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specificationsAbout Business UnitIBM Systems helps IT leaders think differently about their infrastructure.
