Job Description

    A pastry sous chefs responsibilities include: Preparing and cooking: Preparing, cooking, and serving a variety of baked goods and desserts, such as cakes, pies, cookies, and bread Managing production: Overseeing the production of pastries and bread, and coordinating pastry items for different meals Ordering and stocking: Ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients, supplies, and equipment Decorating: Decorating pastries and other desserts with icings and toppings Menu development: Contributing ideas to the menu and developing new seasonal recipes and menus Maintaining a clean kitchen: Ensuring the kitchen is clean and sanitized, and complying with sanitation and nutrition regulations Hiring and training: Recruiting, hiring, and training assistants and junior chefs Planning food budgets: Assisting with planning food budgets and forecasts for the pastry kitchen Scheduling: Scheduling work
