Directly impacts Syngenta s ability to integrate and utilize new and complex data sourcesPurpose of the jobAlong with collaborations and partnerships deliver the next generation data platform for Syngenta. The role will contribute to the information management team, enabling data cataloging capability to deploy the concept of FAIR data. Work with analysts, project teams, data stewards and other leaders within Syngenta to make data findable, accessible and reusable.
  • Implement a high-performance, next generation data catalogue platform
  • Work with a team to identify and build appropriate dataset linkages, and lineage
  • Implement data quality infrastructure and processes.
  • Promote information management best practices and data stewardship concepts
  • Maintain, support and enhance data catalogue capability across the company
  • Provide lineage visibility for data assets within system landscape
Increase data stewardship and data quality framework within the organizationBe a member of the information management team assembled from coworkers and consultants, and extended with business domains data stewards, data scientists and visualization experts, to assemble a data integration environment that can be leveraged by applications, people and external partners. Relationship building, collaboration and influencing will be key in an environment of data complexity and difficult data integration challenges., *
  • 3-5 years of experience with large scale information management / cataloguing technologies such as Alation
  • Sound knowledge of cloud based and data related technologies such as AWS ETL environment, S3, Glue, RedShift, Elastic search, Hadoop, Spark, machine learning, etc.
  • Knowledge of toolsets and capabilities utilized by expert data scientists and modelers
  • Knowledge of Unix scripting
  • SQL, NoSQL and RDBMS databases
  • Solid communication skills and team player
  • Measurement and metrics
  • Statistical modeling
Minimum education and critical knowledge required for the job
  • Bachelor s or Master s degree in informatics, computer science, or related fields
  • Experience in Data catalogue tools, infrastructure, analytics and visualization is a plus
  • Leading cross-functional / organizational / geography people and teams
  • Have cultural awareness
  • Supplier management
