You will also have the chance to influence and optimize efficiency and procedures in line with increasing empowerment of our vessels.Show More Key responsibilities- GeneralReport to the Master on all matters concerning victualingReport to the Chief Officer on all other mattersConsult the Chief Engineer for maintenance of galley equipment and coldrooms- MealsProvide 3 daily mealsPrepare and cater all meals (including breakfast) - buffet stylePrepare meals considering:o The number of people on-boardo Their religious requirementso Cultural practices as they pertain to foodo The duration and nature of the voyagePrepare meals in respect of quantity, nutritional value, quality and varietyDisplay and record daily menu plan for at least one week- Stock ControlEnsure victualing expenses are within approved limitsPrepare reports and inventories of provisions and catering stores as requiredby the CompanyEnsure proper stock controls and purchase of provisions and catering storesEnsure proper maintenance, inventory and operation of linen, pantry andlocker stores- Cleanliness/hygieneEnsure proper storage and maintenance of all catering stores and store roomsResponsible for the cleanliness and hygiene of all catering spacesShow More We are looking for- Minimum 24 months experience as Chief Cook on foreign going ships of relevant size/type and trade with Europeans nationalities. - COP issued by national administration of respective countries. - Practical and theoretical knowledge with regard to: International cuisine specifically European foods Handling of provisions, purchasing, accounting and administration Budgetary control, stock control, storing systems, etc. Operation of catering equipment Hygiene Nutrition diet - Working knowledge of spoken English. - Certificates compliant to STCW 2010 Manila amendments requirements.
