Job Description

JOB PROFILE:

  • Establish, monitor and improve end to end quality management system for ensuring defect free supply of product from contract manufacturing and traded product suppliers
  • Work jointly with sourcing department in potential supplier identification, assessment and on-boarding as per the standard process.
  • Conduct process audits at supplier end to identify gaps, recommend necessary action and conduct regular follow ups to ensure implementation of decided action plan.
  • Participate with vendors to improve their systems, process, Shop floor controls, testing facilities etc. for sustainable improvement in quality.
  • Support service team for in-depth analysis of field issues jointly with supplier and resolution of customer complaints within limited duration.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the actions taken by suppliers in case of non-conformances.
  • Generate and establish the system for capturing supplier wise complaints, failure hours, and turn-around time to reduce the cost of poor quality.
  • Support new & existing suppliers for horizontal deployment of quality systems, new initiatives and technologies.
  • Conduct inspection of export consignments and Tender orders at supplier s end.
  • Support suppliers to make tools / dies & various inspection aids like gauges /jigs /fixtures/ test rigs etc.
  • Coordinate with Product management & Sales team to gauge product specification gaps W.R.T market and rectification of same jointly with supplier.
  • Coordinate with Design COE and supplier for development parts design issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with stockyards and logistic teams to ensure defect free transit and storage of implements.
Person Profile:
  • System knowledge of APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes like Fabrication and Painting.
  • Elementary knowledge of manufacturing processes like casting, forging, VMC/HMC machining, gear cutting, plating, heat treatment & proprietary part functioning.
  • Basic knowledge of advanced metrology instruments like CMM, surface finish tester, contour measurement etc. and hands on experience of using basic instruments like VC, Micrometer, Bore gauges, Height gauge etc.
  • Knowledge about working of different farm implements would be an added benefit.
  • Knowledge about ISO/TS systems
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T
  • Basic knowledge of Six Sigma and Other Statistical Tools
