Job Description

    Transportation Strategy: Develop and implement transportation strategies aligned with business goals, including optimizing routes, carrier selection, and mode of transportation Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with transportation vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and regulatory requirements. Cost Management: Monitor transportation costs, analyze cost drivers, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality. Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for transportation operations, track performance metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed to meet targets. Risk Management: Identify potential risks in transportation operations (such as delays, disruptions, or regulatory issues) and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity. Compliance: Stay updated with transportation regulations, permits, and. licensing requirements, ensuring full compliance to avoid penalties or legal issues. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of transportation professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize team performance and achieve departmental goals. Technology Utilization: Leverage transportation management systems (TMS) and other technology solutions to automate processes, improve visibility, and enhance decision-making in transportation operations. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction. Reporting: Generate regular reports on transportation performance, costs, and other relevant metrics for management review and decision-making.Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience of 3 years in transportation management, preferably in the [industry/niche] sector. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software/tools. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
