Job Description

We, the Core Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) DBA team in Data Services are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented, energetic individual with excellent written and verbal skills whos creative and questions assumptions. We look forward to your positive attitude, strong teamwork dynamics and hands-on experience supporting multi-terabyte active enterprise data warehouse databases. You must be thorough with the concepts of Data Warehousing on Teradata platform. This position will be interacting with DW application architects, developers and in some cases with the business users to understand the database specific requirements and suggest the best available solution. In this architect role, he/she will be responsible for leading the evaluation, testing and deployment new Teradata releases, features and other major activities for future growth of the deployed production and non-production environments. The person will be involved in the data modeling exercises for the upcoming projects. The ideal person must have solid practical experience in two or more of the following skills: - Experience with Teradata TASM and PMCP and Resource Optimization - Experience with Performance Troubleshooting and Code Tuning - Extensive Experience with BAR using Netvault - Experience with Teradata Partitioning, Compression Analysis - Experience with DR Architecture and proven/deployed solutions - Teradata System and Data Security - Experience with other industry standard data warehousing database platforms - Experience with BI Apps on OSX and Linux - Experience in Python/R/Go - Experience in Cloud concepts preferably AWS/GCP - Data visualization in Tableau, Key QualificationsKey Qualifications

  • 5 - 8 years of experience in large Teradata deployments. The candidate must have spent 3 - 5 years as a Production Support DBA, with at least 2 years in focusing on deep dive Teradata system architecture.
  • Strong skills in pro-active database management, ability to manage several concurrent projects while supporting the core team with day-to-day production issues.
  • Proven knowledge of Teradata Data Structures and System Management and Administration including TASM, BAR, Performance and Capacity Analysis (PMCP), Replication and ETL optimizations.
  • Well informed on the latest and greatest features and options under overall Teradata technology stack.
  • Should have experience with at least 2 projects with complete involvement in the SDLC, using a proven deployment methodology.
  • Basic working knowledge of other IT technologies including Networks, Servers, Storage and Operations, besides BI Apps.
  • Must be willing to participate in on call support in rotation basis, as needed.
