Role/Department Description: Systems Engineer / Windows Team
A Windows Systems Administrator is part of the Systems Infrastructure group. This position is responsible for the deployment and maintenance of Windows servers used within FactSet. Production Windows systems exist in our data centers, offices worldwide, and many client locations. The environment is very aggressively monitored and managed due to an extremely low tolerance for downtime. In addition, this position will troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, make recommendations for improving the environment, and work closely with talented Unix, Network, Security, and Storage engineers. This position requires a driven individual who is very strong technically, well versed in industry best practices, learns quickly and is willing and capable of working with a diverse team in different time zones.
Responsibilities: In - depth experience managing Microsoft Windows 2008, 2012 & 2016 servers in a distributed enterprise environment Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Management Event Log Check, Disk Space Checking Servers Performance Tuning. Provide technical support for a mission critical corporate/Prod Windows / VMware server environment including server installs, migrations, upgrades, patch management, and application support. Provides technical administration and configuration support for the following platforms: Windows Server 2012/2016, Active Directory / Group Policy, Citrix, VMware vSphere, Veeam and other related technologies.
Required Skills: Experience on managing Windows Server 2008, 2012 & 2016 in physical or in virtual environment Experience in troubleshooting technical problems involving hardware, operating systems, and applications Experience in Active directory, group policy management. Good knowledge in IIS sites configuration and troubleshooting Good knowledge in HP, Dell server hardware Automating and Developing scripts for processes within the environment. security updates and patches to endpoints on a monthly basis using BigFix. Experience in upgrading windows OS 24x7 on - call availability Willingness to work in shifts, and weekends.
Highly Desired: Administration of Windows Infrastructure servers Experience in Windows Power shell Experience in Server performance tuning, proactive monitoring, log analysis, troubleshooting Good knowledge in BigFix patching knowledge in AWS/Azure public cloud solutions
