Job Description

Staff WriterPosition Objectives:To complete project requests from PETA India staff and to write articles and letters about animal rights issues for both in-house and external publicationsTerm of Employment:Full-timeReports to:CEOPrimary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Create content uniquely designed for specific PETA India projects and campaigns
  • Formulate and produce unique projects, campaigns, and slogans
  • Write well-informed letters and PETA India website entries about animal rights issues
  • Write articles and copy for PETA India s in-house publications
  • Prepare PETA India news releases, advisories, and media alerts
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
  • Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of one year of professional writing experience, which may include writing for newspapers, magazines, or other publications
  • Experience with online writing
  • Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA India campaigns
  • Proven ability to make sound judgments and work independently
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines while under pressure
  • Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional manner
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and follow through
  • Support for PETA India s philosophy and the ability to advocate for our positions on issues in a professional manner
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
