Managing a team which does research oil refineries globally. Managing the day to day operations of the team which include secondary research , primary research , client query handling , team management , managing internal clients and their queries , etc. Managing the Teams development and morale and handling personnel issues as they arise , including leading the appraisal process for the team and ensuring compliance with company processes. Playing a key role in developing new teams , products , processes and content. Working closely with the in - house software team to manage the development of the software delivery tool for the product. Managing a range of different staff from Researchers to Analysts and Team Leads (if required). Utilizing strong overview of knowledge of the industry in order to guide the Team s output and knowledge development. Using Microsoft office tools including Excel , Word , Project and PowerPoint. Transferring knowledge to team members both in terms of skills and industry knowledge. Communicating regularly with team members in both formal presentations and informal on - the - job training. Following internal processes and policies including HR , Finance and IT and ensuring Team compliance with these processes. Leading the Teams interactions with both internal and external clients. Person Specification Having a strong awareness of the major issues across the global oil refining market which is kept constantly updated. Someone with oil refinery background / chemical / mechanical engineers who have worked in oil refineries / studied refinery technology in UG or PG would be preferred. Having the ability to communicate clearly , interestingly and enthusiastically to team members , and internal and external clients of the team. Having strong analytical skills and the ability to think independently , make intelligent estimations for QCing work and lead insightful and original analysis. Work in a structured and logical manner to develop the software build. Having prior experience of managing teams. Leading by example through strong performance as well as creating a structure and environment in which the team can thrive. A minimum of 5 - 6 years relevant work experience in industry research and analysis , secondary and primary research and market analysis. Having the ability to use online and other secondary research materials quickly and effectively , searching both systematically and intuitively to deliver optimum results. Having a strong familiarity with how to model and forecast data , using regression techniques where possible as well as integrating macro economic and qualitative factors. Showing strong attention to detail and the ability to verify and sanity check large amounts of data quickly. The ability to review work quickly and effectively and identify problems and solutions quickly. Having strong written English including the ability to structure written work for meaning and flow. Producing work with a minimum of grammatical and expression errors , as well as the ability to follow company style effectively and good attention to detail. Having a strong knowledge of Excel , to a high level , including understanding of techniques such as V look - ups and pivot tables. Knowledge of visual basic and macros would be an advantage. Being confident and quick use of short - cut keys. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word including using short cuts and familiarity with the company report authoring templates and macros. Confident at using PowerPoint techniques and shortcuts to produce quick and effective presentations.,
