Job Description

Position Description The Optum, part of the UnitedHealth Group family of businesses, Ireland Automation Centre of Excellence is an exciting new venture that s passionate about process automation. We support the organization through the delivery of automation solutions, using existing, new and emerging technologies to enhance savings, improve productivity and quality and reduce cost.The Automation Solution Architect will be part of Optum Ireland s Automation Centre Of Excellence will be responsible for the delivery lifecycle of automated business processes using the suite of RPA tools currently used by Optum.This will include understanding technical and infrastructure requirements, process analysis, development of the automated workflow, appropriate unit testing and successful release to deployment.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Optum and UnitedHealth Care business units, Automation Development, IT Infrastructure and other teams in understanding the functional and technical design for processes identified for automation potential
  • Partner with business units IT teams to imbed RPA considerations into technology processes including SDLC
  • Participate in design authority to review automation candidate designs ensuring they meet RPA policies and design principles
  • Provide architectural input over solution designs to ensure consistency and continuity across the company s IT infrastructure and delivery teams
  • Review RPA code and provide feedback to RPA development teams
  • Document and maintain a repository of official architecture design policies and decisions across RPA program
  • Support the creation of RPA design principles and standards
  • Guide and mentor RPA team members as required, assisting in the team s skills development during automation development projects
  • Collaborate with RPA vendor on technology and software considerations
  • Keep up to date with industry standards, and technology changes to help build robust systems to accommodate the industry requirements and business needs
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering/Computer Science or related technical field
  • Experience in delivering an automated process into production using an RPA tool
  • Proven experience in delivering successful IT/business software projects
  • Good understanding of programming concepts and a programming background in one or more modern languages
  • Solid understanding of typical Enterprise IT infrastructure/architecture
  • Strong database skills with proven experience using SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL, etc.
  • Good understanding of the key requirements documents involved in a delivery lifecycle (functional, technical, testing documents)
  • Well-organized with good communication and reporting skills
  • Self-motivated, team player, action and results oriented
  • Exposure to Agile delivery methods

  • Good understanding of programming concepts and a programming background in .NET
