• The incumbent will be part of a dedicated collaboration center for multi-disciplinary drug discovery and development, between Syngene and a leading global pharmaceutical company that allows high-performing employees to make an impact and contribute to the growth of the collaboration. He/She will be part of a team with focus on the exciting and fast-paced area of antibody and cell-based technologies.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Duties will include, but not be limited to,
• Drive and develop innovative methods to support discovery projects using display platforms like phage and yeast display platforms.
• Binding assays for biological characterization and testing of lead candidates identified from discovery campaigns.
• Developing innovative methods to support antibody engineering using in vitro display techniques with special focus on Yeast Display.
• Small scale expression and purification (microbial and mammalian) of lead candidates.
• Functional characterization of lead candidates (therapeutic and non-therapeutic recombinant proteins) using a battery of biochemical techniques.
• Make detailed observations, analyze data, interpret results and exercise appropriate technical discretion in the design and execution of experiments.
• Maintain highest standards in each protocol for compliance, standard operating procedures and applicable guidelines and regulations.
• Working with a highly dedicated and learned team of professionals.
• Presenting results with interpretation in internal meetings.

Educational Qualification: Ph.D. (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related discipline) / MSc (Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or any other relevant Biological Sciences)Technical/functional Skills:

• Strong proven expertise in protein purification including antigens, antibodies and membrane proteins from various expression systems (Mammalian, E. coli, Insect cells and Pichia) using multiple chromatographic techniques.
• Experience in refolding of proteins from inclusion bodies and activity assays
• Expertise in analytical techniques like Spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, SE-HPLC etc.
• Understanding of Molecular biology & cloning with hands on expertise.

Experience:Ph.D with 0-3 years post qualificationMSc with 12-15 years post qualificationBehavioral Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication, data documentation and analysis capabilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and very good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel. Coordination of internal and external resources is essential.
• Strong organizational, detail-orientation, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
• Attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to work under strict timelines.
