We are building a 125+ technology team focused on building capabilities required to manage the end-to-end planning and financial processes for Global Engineering Service (GES). It s Day 1 of a multi-year initiative.The GES organization is responsible for the design and construction of all Amazon fulfillment related facilities across the Amazon global network. This strategic organization builds and invests in the capacity to deliver growth for Consumer Fulfillment, Amazon Transportation, Amazon Air, Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF) and PillPack. GES spends tens of billion dollars in the construction of assets to deliver on capacity for planned shipping and retail demand for our external customers.Amazon is looking for a high-energy, talented quality assurance engineer. You will work with multiple development teams and stakeholders in US and India, to drive test strategy and implementation. A successful candidate will have a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. The person chosen for this position will have the opportunity to contribute their creative ideas and energy to new, complex and business critical products.Key job responsibilities
• Utilize innovative testing technologies to develop products testing strategy
• Participation in design and code inspections.
• UI, API and Hybrid testing and automation
• Perform manual testing, the scope of which will encompass all functionalities of services as a prequel to automation
• Analyze test logs, debug failures; create test reports, co-ordinate with stakeholders
A day in the lifeQuality Assurance Engineers (QAEs) at Amazon test cutting edge applications and products at the user level and code level, both manually and with automated tools. Our QAEs are able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with scripting tools and/or user-level automated tools. They work with dev engineers to understand technical implementation and also with Product Management, User Experience, and Customer Support groups to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments. Thus drive software development process towards quality-centric methodologies. QAEs at Amazon are excellent at taking-up tasks from start to completion with minimal help. QAEs would be responsible for understanding the domain and the product in detail and coming up with the test strategy/planning, coming up with the test cases, driving the test case sign-off processes with the stakeholders, contributing to code level Unit tests, test execution and reporting.About the teamWe are building a 125+ team ground up. This team will operate in a start-up environment, work in an agile and fail fast manner and eventually build 21 brand new platforms/modules over the next 2 years. The team would be based out of IN (BLR and HYD) and US (HQ2- Washington DC/Arlington).,
• 4+ year of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
• Experience in manual testing
• Experience in UI and API automation testing (Selenium/SOAPUI)
• Experience in Any Scripting and Programming language
• Experience in API & Mobile testing
• Bachelors Degree
• BE in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
• 5+ years of QA experience
• Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools
• Hands on experience in automating using Selenium, TestNG, Java or C++ coding
• Ability to understand technical specifications and analyze log files
• Experience in Java/Perl/Python based automation and/or user-level
• Multi-lingual testing frameworks and automation experience.
• Knowledge of Test tools such as HP ALM/ JIRA/ etc.
