Job Description

    • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems within our Python-based Analytics platforms (Fusion and Athena)
    • Assist with the build-out a cloud-based data platform to support the development of analytics and operational solutions.
    • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, increase revenue, optimize the operating model and risk framework, and create value added data driven Products for our clients.
    • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
    • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
    • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
    Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
    • Excellent Python knowledge with a strong track record of delivering with impact. Well-grounded in Object-Oriented Programming and design patterns
    • Experience in AWS particularly data lake patterns.
    • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5 and core libraries/frameworks such as React.js, Flask, Bottle or Tornado
    • Some knowledge of PySpark and ideally Spark Streaming and/or Kafka.
    • Strong database skills with a thorough understanding of relational databases and an understanding of Object Oriented databases
    • Working knowledge of REST web services
    • Knowledge of open source solutions and trending technologies
    Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
    • Knowledge of Java, would be a plus
