Job Description

As a member of our Infrastructure Development team, you will dive right into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to develop and deploy large scale infrastructure solutions that supports JPMC s diverse and critical businesses. You will be using the latest technologies, data management and security practices in all aspect of software development. Critical thinking, clear communication and collaboration are key to success product delivery.Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that systems are developed keeping in mind GTI s secure from start and Global Technology Software Development principles (e.g. coding practices, test driven development, automated testing and release management, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and remediate complex incident issues on the core Enterprise Video platforms and find ways to prevent these issues from occurring again through software monitoring and automation.
  • Utilize vendor APIs to automate provisioning, monitoring, reporting and failover.
  • Develop APIs, micro services and abstraction layers at a platform level (compute, network devices, storage farms, database, middleware, multimedia, etc.) that will enable end to end automation from the customer perspective.
  • Work with engineering, architecture and operations teams, and vendors to identify the technologies required for a modern software driven technology infrastructure.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
  • Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, Java, .Net
  • Experience working with two or more from the following: web application development, database, unix/linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, large scale software development, security software development
  • Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills with clear communication
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • 3-5 years of strong development skills in a Dynamic Programming Languages with full stack development (Python, Java, .NET)
  • 3-5 years experience in Infrastructure Development using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Strong analytical mindset with focus on operational efficiency and automation
  • High level of proficiency with debugging and analyzing complex software systems including investigation of all layers of the technology stack
  • Application, networking, internet, and operating system security fundamentals
  • Knowledge of system performance, monitoring, TCP/IP services (DNS, DHCP, etc), scalability impact and real-time applications
  • Experience working with vendor APIs to develop automation, testing, monitoring, provisioning and failover micro services
  • Experience supporting vendor applications in an Engineering role including design, test and certification.
A successful candidate should have experience with several of the following Multimedia products:
  • Telepresence
  • Cisco Spark, DX, EX, MX, SX, C Series, CTS and Jabber
  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager, VCS / Expressway Systems
  • Cisco Meeting Server, Conductor and Cisco Telepresence Servers (8710 Bridges)
  • Cisco TMS
  • Understanding of commonly used video communication standards/protocols: SIP, H.323
Integrated AV Components
  • Creston Digital Media Platform, Pro Series Controllers and Surfaces, Polycom Sound Structure
  • Digital Audio/Video Standards and associated connection/wire types
Video Streaming Solutions
  • Scala Applications and Hardware (or similar)
  • Video Streaming and VOD Solutions
  • Qumu Products (or similar)
  • Web Streaming delivery protocols
  • Audio and Video encoding technology
  • IPTV / Cable Digital Distribution Solutions
