Job Description

How is this team contributing to the vision of ProvidenceProvidence Cybersecurity (CYBR) is committed to appropriately protecting all information relating to its caregivers and affiliates, as well as protecting its confidential business information (including information relating to its caregivers, affiliates, and patients).What will you be responsible for

  • Establish, operationalize, and continuously improve the global Data Protection (DP) strategy, capabilities, and services operating out of India.
  • Act as the DP liaison for Providence businesses/entities. Integrate DP requirements into business/entity scope, strategy, programs, and operations.
  • Drive change and innovation for DP across diverse teams and time zones.
  • Advocate Information Services (IS) and Cybersecurity (CYBR) goals and commitments for Data Protection/Security.
  • Identify changes to Providence DP requirements, align DP strategy and roadmap to meet those requirements.
  • Maintain forward looking and strategic partnerships with key technology and service vendors, ensuring innovative strategies are incorporated into future roadmaps.
  • Facilitate strategic planning with business/entity stakeholders for deployment or enhancement of DP services and technologies.
  • Understand and deploy Providence Cybersecurity vision within Data Protection (DP) function.
  • Be accountable for development, delivery, and quality of Data Protection/Security solutions and services to accomplish DP objectives; helping deliver solutions improving cybersecurity maturity and caregiver experience and adding strategic value to Providence.
  • Develop/enhance and implement Data Protection/Security solutions and capabilities that are clearly aligned to their business, technology, and threat drivers.
  • Develop complex security systems using ciphers and algorithms to encrypt sensitive data and protect it from hackers, misuse, and cybercrime.
  • Develop new methods for encrypting data and decipher encrypted messages.
  • Develop/enhance data obfuscation techniques that help to secure data in transit and at rest.
  • Consistently demonstrate a sense of accountability for the quality and completeness of entire solutions/ service and resulting caregiver experience.
  • Develop statistical models to analyze data. Build and track DP related KPIs and risk-based metrics and assist with reporting on those metrics to senior management on regular basis.
  • Define and drive mitigation controls for identified risks across the organization.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between business/entity executive leadership and DP teams to engage executive leadership and communicate the progress of DP programs and services.
  • Provide responsive leadership to delegate, coordinate, and motivate staff; evaluate performance for direct reports and for contractors/other peoples direct reports; work with individuals and HR to improve performance as needed.
  • Oversee an engineering team of up to 15 caregivers.
What would your day look like
  • Lead and manage the DP function.
  • Lead the DP strategy, functions, programs, and services within CYBR India, and ensure that DP customers receive exceptional services.
  • While operating independently, work collaboratively with business/entity operational leadership, intake, and governance teams, as well as Cybersecurity teams required to deploy DP services and technologies.
  • Ensure optimum and efficient delivery of DP services and issue/risk management to business/entity programs and operations.
  • Influence decisions in partnership with CYBR leadership to ensure work toward common objectives.
  • Work closely with the Agile Program Manager to prioritize out backlog (epics/features/user stories) and engineering plans, including specs and design collateral.
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with the functions strategy.
  • Participate in design, code/config, and test planning and reviews across the feature area, understand the root causes of issues, and find ways to resolve them.
  • Identify areas of automation within assigned solutions and services and drive them towards completion. Reduce Operational issues by improving Engineering practices.
  • Engage and organize the assignment of activities of multi-functional, large-scale teams, as well as the project estimates, task dependencies and schedule.
  • Adhere to the Providence engineerings quality criteria for assigned solutions and services, using measurements and insights to understand and validate the quality of experience for caregivers. Pro-actively and independently develop root cause analyses and process improvement plans.
  • Coordinate with Architects, Scrum Master and Dev Leads to help deliver robust solutions.
  • Drive accountable areas for results. Take ownership of the environment, teams, operations, initiatives, and projects within areas of accountability, sometimes in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives, organizing necessary resources with little/no intervention from business/entity leadership.
Who are we looking for
  • 4-year University (Bachelors) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or STEM fields, or equivalent experience.
  • 12 years of Information Systems experience, 5 years of Data Protection/Security experience, 5 years of Information Security management experience working in Agile mode.
  • Preferred few years of working experience in a Solution or Service Engineering role within a Healthcare, Pharma or Bio-Technology organization.
  • Key experience highlights include, demonstrated ability to create and successfully execute strategic plans for highly complex DP requirements; implementing advanced programs and technologies; standardizing complex and disparate processes and consolidating multiple teams into a single cohesive team.
  • Ability to manage functions, and deliver capabilities and services with the highest complexity and broadest breadth - typically at the enterprise-level.
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate between executive leadership, resource managers of all IS teams, project management and consulting resources.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Engineering Management and leading Agile engineering teams.
  • Deep knowledge of at least two Data Protection/Security capabilities such as Data Classification (Boldon James, Microsoft Information Protection, TITUS, etc.), Data Loss Prevention (Microsoft M365, McAfee, Symantec etc.), Information Rights Management (Microsoft Information Protection, Seclore, Vera etc.), Enterprise DRM, Enterprise DLP (SaaS-based, network based or on-prem), Data Encryption (IBM Security Guardium Data Encryption, Microsoft Bitlocker, VeraCrypt, Vormetric, etc.), Data Obfuscation (Immuta, etc.), Database Activity Monitoring, Data Access Governance (SailPoint, STEALTHbits, Varonis, etc.).
  • Understanding of CASB capabilities (API-based and inline) and deep knowledge of Microsoft Cloud App Security (MCAS).
  • Preferred knowledge of data security laws and standards (HIPAA, CCPA, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701, NIST SP 800-53 and Privacy Framework).
  • CDPSE certification and/or expertise.
