65 days a year, our global manufacturing and supply network works to ensure our patients have the treatments they need to live longer, healthier lives.POSITION PURPOSE:Novartis Technical Operations (NTO) Global Operations Center (GOC) Data Governance team is setup to develop and maintain the right metadata, master data, data quality parameters, data lineage, important metric reports and workflows to ensure that data is governed, consistent, reliable and easily accessible for decision-making. The Data Steward has responsibility for day-to-day management of data. They are the Domain Experts who understand and communicate the meaning and use of information. They are responsible to work with the other Stewards across the organization as the governing body for most data decisions and issue resolutions. They will represent the Data Owner in most discussions. Data Stewards utilize the Data Owners and the Governance Steering Committee when the Stewards Council cannot resolve a data issue.YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:E2E RESPONSIBILITIES- Build & communicate standards, benchmarks and processes for the daily execution of data stewardship tasks, use of common methods & tools. Collaborate closely with the Data Champions, DQ Experts and Data Solution designers to ensure alignment between central DQ activities and the stewardship community- Collaborate closely with the Functional Decision Owners, Data Champions, Data Maintainers, Stewards & IT organization to calibrate, discuss and resolve Data Governance and Quality issues. Own, build and maintain the metadata, data quality parameters, data lineage, important metric reports and workflows to ensure that data is governed, consistent, reliable and easily accessible- Continuously supervise progress (with particular focus on DQ KPIs) and track benefit realization of use cases and delivery of intended results. Ensure continuous and effective communication with relevant team members, stakeholders and colleagues in relation to stewardship activities. - Review and approve data exceptions for the data built by Data Maintenance team. Crafts an effective data community with a distinct identity, to facilitate shared learning between Business Users and Stewards and to promote active Data Governance through the Data Governance teamADHERENCES- Adherence to the Novartis Values & Behaviors. Ensure outstanding communication with all partners including internal associates through regular updates with focus on accomplishments, important metrics, standard methodologies, change management, key events, etc.- Be proactive in planning; anticipating change and acting in accordance; drive meticulous implementation of team goals and metrics- Ensure accountability & ownership of work youre leading. Proactively report all issues/deviations in a timely manner. Implement continuous process improvement projects to improve quality & efficiency. Ensure Training on relevant procedures before taking up any GxP activities- Report result status and continuously acquire process knowledgeSUPPORT- Ensure successful implementation of Data Governance framework and processes- Be the change catalyst and champion for data governance- Provide guidance and set standards of functional excellence in methodologies, processes and SOPs to enable improvement of Global & Local data operations- Support management in adoption, stabilization and sustain data governance- Support management in guiding, mentoring and hiring process.Minimum requirements WHAT YOU LL BRING TO THE ROLE:- Bachelor / Master s degree from reputed University in Pharma, Computers or IT or equivalent. With min 9+ yrs of demonstrated ability working as a data steward for key business functions such as supply chain, procurement, finance, HR etc.- Repeated hands-on experience of working in Data Governance, Master data and data management domain. .
