Job descriptionThe Lead Engineer -Process Engineering shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:Should understand the project needs and act accordinglyAssign the functions to his teamSupervise Junior Process Engineers and Trainee Process EngineersSupervise P&ID Designers.Review / comment / develop deliverables like Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, Design Basis, Process & Operational Philosophies, Heat & Mass Balance, Process data Sheets, Line list, Hydraulic calculations, etc as required for various projects.Review Proposal and Project PFDs and P&IDs.Participate in Proposal and Project Kick-Off Meetings as requiredParticipate in Proposal and Project Meetings as required.Assist in man-hour estimation for a project.Ensure timely deliverables as per scheduleEnsure quality of deliverables and Right First Time.Ensure that Change request are raised time to time, as per variations in scopeEnsure Good Engineering Practices are followedEnsure that Process Engineering standards and Guidelines are adhered to in the deliverablesEnsure compliance with Regulatory requirementsEnsure compliance with applicable codes, standards, Regulations & Good Engineering PracticesIf required, participate in HAZOP, CHAZOP, PSM, Hazard Identification, SIL studies etc and ensure that the Process safety requirements are fully complied with.Key Technical Skills Required:Possess a broad understanding Process engineering and Project procedures.Should have worked as Lead engineer for 4 yearsShould have full understanding of Process deliverables requirements- like PFD,P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, equipment selection & sizing, material selection, hazardous area classification etc.Desirable to have sound knowledge on Process engineering Standards, National & International Standards, Regulatory Requirements, GMP and sanitary design standards, Process safety requirements etcHands on experience with process engineering design Softwares like Hysis, HTRI, Chemcad, Promax, etc.Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office Software, Lotus Notes, and other Company and discipline specific software applications.Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.Exposure to Conceptual Studies, Feasibility studies, Operation & Maintenance manuals, plant start-up manuals is desirable but not a must.
