265986BREngineering Expert Voice & VideoJob DescriptionDesign, install and support Voice and video solutions to fulfill business requirements gathered by Global IT Infrastructure & Services Coordinate external and internal resources in daily operations as well as project delivery. Act as business partner primarily for Connectivity voice and video service lines but also collaborate with other Novartis IT engineering Organisations when and where required Collaborate in IT infrastructure initiatives for standardization and adoption of new and existing technologies. Act as senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) for voice and video including, but not limited to, last level of escalation support (level 4) for daily operations Act as the technology SME interface with 3rd party service as well as technology providers.Responsible for defining, analyzing, planning, measuring and improving all aspects of the availability of voice & video conferencing services. (This task can and is usually delegated to a service provider but responsibility remains with voice & video technology SME) Proactively improves service availability wherever possible and optimizes the availability of voice & video infrastructure for cost- effective improvements that deliver tangible benefits to the business. Creates, maintains and regularly reviews availability management systems related to voice and video conferencing infrastructure, aimed at improving the overall availability of its components; ensures that existing and future availability requirements can be met. (This task can and is usually delegated to a service provider but responsibility remains with voice & video technology SME) Responsible for designing infrastructure components and systems required to provide a service. Collaborates closely with service lines and architecture to deliver PoC, pilots and successful implementation of new IT solutions Evaluate new technology and bring opportunities forward that would improve the future voice and video infrastructure, performance and contribution to evolving those standards Design, and implement solutions based on agreed architecture roadmaps and handbooks Plan, design and roll out new voice and video solutions including life cycle (new & like- for- like) through project work Create and maintain related documentation Perform Project Engineering including specification definition, design of solution in compliance with corporate standards, implementation, testing through to production. Level 3 and Level 4 Support for problems identified with systems and network. Will act as an escalation for Level 2 and Level 3 Managed Services support technicians. Standard system administration duties including server install, System/ Application install and patch management, Windows problem determination and resolution, log analysis, etc. Configure, test, and maintain voice and video equipment and services in close collaboration with engineering peers (e.g. network, security, client platforms etc.) Assist with monthly reports, and recommendations for Managed Services ClientsMinimum requirementso University degree level education or comparable education in Computer Science OR Engineering Science (technical background) OR work experience as senior network / voice & video engineer in a global Business fluent in English (Written and spoken) o 6+ years related experience in designing, planning, documenting and implementing voice and video using latest technology o Hands- on technical role, requiring the ability to multitask, prioritize, and accomplish multiple concurrent projects as well as interface with other departments and management. o Proven experience in System Development / Deployment o Provides authoritative technical and professional guidance to external and/ or internal stakeholders o Interacts with a typically diverse internal and external audience and is required to interpret and communicate complex information o Understands the needs of the business and aspects of the external environment (e.g. related IT services, projects, initiatives, functions, etc.) and their impact on the own area of responsibility o Cisco Unified Call Manager Clusters and Cisco Unity Connection Voice Mail (current versions).
