About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionThe Investment Management, Investment Services & Fund Accounting and Enterprise Technology team provides systems development, implementation and support services for FIL s global Investment Management businesses across front, mid and back office operations. We support Fund Managers, Research Analysts, Traders and Investment Services Operations in all of FIL s international locations, including London, Hong Kong, and Tokyo.Purpose of your roleThe successful candidate would be expected to be a part of the ISS Technology QA team. The analyst/ senior analyst would be part of a project team responsible for the end to end testing, but the core focus would be automation of test cases, functional testing of databases, service, data flows and data quality. The analyst /senior analyst s key responsibilities would include developing a firm understanding of the system and requirements, formulating test estimations and plans, preparing and executing tests, and reporting progress. The analyst /senior analyst would be expected to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders, including programme managers, development managers, architects, delivery leads, business analysts, test managers and functional automation testers, so clear communication skills are very important. Experience and understanding of agile delivery methodology, would be an added advantage for this role.Key Responsibilities

• Utilize innovative test technologies to develop a products testing strategy. Test and critique software to ensure quality and identify potential improvement opportunities.
• Liaising with business analysts and architects to develop strong understanding of business processes and data.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different levels of stakeholders in application delivery, QA and business groups.
• System Integration Testing with different applications by creating joined up Test plans, Test cases and Test execution timelines.
• Work in pairing with developers.
• Ability to solve complex problems and write/implement test automation frameworks
• Work with the Product Managers and Developers to design, develop and maintain automation framework for use in development and testing cycles

Experience and Qualifications

• Technical
  • 2 years of experience in test Automation
  • 2 Years of working in Investment Management and Trading domain.
  • 2 years of experience of working with PL/SQL and SQL queries (DMLs, DDLs, Joins)
  • 2 years of experience in database and services testing including exposure to testing of ETL loads and stored procedures
  • 2 years of experience of working with Unix , Python, and batch processing
  • 2 years of experience of designing, develop, and document test frameworks using Java, Python.
  • 2 years of experience in design, development, maintenance of test automation frameworks using Selenium or any other automation tool
  • 2 years of working with Agile Methodologies
  • 2 years of experience in testing and defect reporting/tracking tools like JIRA, HP ALM etc
• Functional
  • 3 years experience of working within financial organisations and broad base business process, application and technology architecture experience
  • 3 years of experience of working with multi-cultural and geographically disparate teams Business facing and ability to work alongside data stewards in systems and the business
  • 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Testing methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and client facing skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work closely with cross functional teams

Essential Skills / Experience

• Should be able to define and implement test strategies and test plans for back office financial applications.
• Planning and execution of tests in an efficient and organised way.
• Strong Database Testing skills and ability to create Test data whenever required
• Ability to write Functional, Integration and Regression test cases from the analysis of requirements document
• Accurately reporting test preparation and execution progress.
• Design, develop, and document test frameworks using Selenium or any other automation tool
• Understanding of Mutual Funds and Investment Management industry
• Understanding of automation test principles
• Understanding of Continuous Integration and experience of building test suites integrated in build pipeline
• Ability to review Unit Test Cases for Product and create new tests
• Ability to learn and quickly get familiar with a complex business and systems environment.
