Expedia Senior Software Development Engineer - Android Hotwire is not your typical company. Our team is looking at growing our Android App Team in Gurgaon. What you ll do: As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will take on the role of technical expert and a senior member of the Hotwire Native Apps team.

  • You will work to establish our Android apps as premier offerings, while ensuring application performance and reliability and maintainable codebase contributions.
  • You will work to gain a solid understanding of our users needs, help define and prioritize new features, and offer constructive critiques of planned features.
  • You will also ensure that the visual and UX design is up to spec, that the app size is efficient, and that Android platform specific offerings are utilized for a truly native experience.
  • You will be involved in product feature development, and will be working in close partnership with our teams in Gurgaon office.
  • You will be responsible for mentoring the other members of the team and ensuring that the app architecture is scalable with shared UI components, a networking layer, and more allows us to achieve maximum velocity, democratize the development of our Andoid apps, and move quickly into exciting new technology opportunities.
Who you are: As a Sr Software Development Engineer, youll be a great fit if you
  • Are a native Android engineer with 8 years of hands on mobile app experience
  • Are passionate about building and refining high performance mobile apps
  • Carefully evaluate the technical tradeoffs of every decision
  • Partner with the Design team to determine the best UI and infrastructure practices
  • Carry out code reviews to guarantee code quality
  • Have experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex mobile applications
  • Are willing to learn from everyone, communicate well, and strive to be an effective team member.
  • Have worked on technologies - Kotlin, Java, Dagger 2, RxJava Retrofit, JetPack, MVVM, git
