About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionThe ISS Technology provides systems development, business analysis, architecture & engineering, implementation and support services for FIL s Investment Management, Investment Services & Fund Accounting and several other business groups globally. The department supports the business units catering to the entirety of FIL s Investment Process for all asset classes in all of FIL s international locations, including London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Mumbai.Purpose of your roleSenior Analyst Programmer is a technology expert who is highly skilled in programming, engineering and problem-solving skills. They can deliver value to business faster and with superlative quality. If doing technical discussions and whiteboarding with peers excites you and code reviews adds fuel to your tank, come we are looking for you.This Senior Analyst Programmer opening is for Oracle DB developer having experience in Python as well in the Portfolio Construction and Order Generation technology group within the ISS - IM Technology. The ideal candidate should be hands-on with database development using SQL Server with and doing development involving essential skills/concepts of writing server-side web application logic, hands on Python 3. The successful candidate will take responsibility of development of one or more applications and workstreams in the PC&OG space and will be responsible for enhancing, maintaining and providing L3 support of those applications. The candidate with exposure to agile delivery methods shall be preferred.Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Responsibility to ensure project deliverables conforms to business requirements/objectives for the module owned
  • Responsible for design, impact analysis for the requirements
  • Contribute to the design and development of modules
  • Ensuring DevOps standards and engineering practices in development process
  • Escalating concerns at the appropriate time to the Project Manager
  • Liaising with other Business Analysis & Systems teams to understand functional or operational implications of changes
  • Knowledge of working in Agile Team with DevOps principles would be an additional advantage.
Experience and Qualifications Required
  • Well versed in Database design (Logical & Physical)
  • Well versed in SQL Server/Oracle Database Development, including PL/SQL procedures.
  • Expertise in stored procedures and database development in any major database (oracle/sql server/postgres).
  • Good understanding of different data workloads and appropriate design considerations
  • Experience in performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and experience in working on ETL tools.
  • Knowledge of Unix, shell scripts and Control-M
  • Developed Python applications at enterprise level
  • At least 3 years Working experience with Python
  • Experience with: Pandas, Numpy, Flask, REST APIs
  • Good design and OO structure of applications
  • Knowledge of Agile - Scrum framework as a software development life-cycle methodology
