Expedia Program Manager IIIThe Mobile App team:The Mobile Team at Expedia is an exciting and growing part of the organization that is showing outstanding year over year growth every year that passes. We are an 80 person team of Android/iOS Engineers, Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Designers, TPMs, and Analysts spread across 3 locations globally (San Francisco, Chicago, and Gurgaon). We focus on ensuring that the Expedia app is the perfect companion for travelers looking to discover, book & manage their travel. We provide a differentiated experience to our customers by using the native capabilities of the platforms & seamlessly powering our app with cutting-edge design & data systems used by Expedia.   • You will participate in the software development lifecycle and how various agile engineering practices can be used (e.g., in planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, acceptance testing). You will lead and mentor others through agile ceremonies.
  • You will develop project schedules, define timeframes and prioritize tasks to achieve project milestones and deliver intended objectives within the agreed timeframes and ensuring that requirements are completed.
  • You will keep relevant stakeholders informed of progress toward or changes to task timing that impacts the project schedule.
  • You will lead proactive risk management, working with the team to anticipate new risks and mitigation planning.
  • You will coordinate bringing together different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop solutions to issues. You will build stakeholder relationships which help further the team s & EG s long term interests.
  • You will identify opportunities to re-use patterns and apply them to systems to add value or simplify.
  • You will act as a bridge between engineering team(s) and business & product stakeholders, often helping in articulation of complex technical problems and charting the way forward to unblock the teams.
  • You will assess bottlenecks in work processes within teams to streamline and simplify workflow. You will think holistically to identify opportunities around processes to increase efficiency across organizational boundaries.
  • You will communicate technical and business concepts confidently to management & stakeholders, tailoring your message to the audience.
Who you are:
  • 6 years experience working in multi-functional teams consisting of program managers, product managers, engineers & designers.
  • Prior experience as a business or process analyst and/or a developer.
  • Deep understanding of technical platforms & API interfaces.
  • Solid understanding of software development processes.
  • High degree of competency in all phases of project management, including issue and risk identification and management, tracking dependencies and achievements, and communicating overall project status.
  • Experience working with development methodologies, e.g. Agile and SCRUM, and process workflow across organizations.
  • Naturally curious and data-driven to make things better at every opportunity.
  • Noise reducer and builder of structure around chaos.
