Job Description

  • Consistently exceeds/sets high expectations around timeliness and quality of work within a familiar project context, even for complex assignments.
  • Code quality is generally superlative and can be treated as reference implementation for other developers in the team. Contributes to the standards / best practices.
  • Is a mature hand in designing even the complex modules within a project. Design generally stands good upto to both functional and non functional considerations. Seen as very effective in performing design reviews.
  • Is an expert with coding and related tools on a language/technology platform. Demonstrates the maturity/comfort irrespective of the module/author of the same. Is quick to identify the refactoring/improvement opportunities and is able to implement them.
  • Sets up automated/CI build pipelines & deployment pipelines. Sets up the automated smoke & regression test suites. Implements the branching/merging policies.
  • Is a go to person on a technology/platform within a project context. Demonstrates ability to address complex technology problems like performance tuning, container configuration, integration etc. Can traverse technology boundaries much more comfortably and programme/develop against more than one platform.
  • Proactively highlights any missing/misinterpreted requirements. Is highly capable of producing/reviewing designs that meet given requirements. Irrespective of complexity, deliverables are of high quality (defect free).
  • Demonstrates ability to practice Test Driven Development and in the process creates effective safety nets through good coverage via unit and integration tests.
  • Shows proficiency in identifying more complex issues related to program logic, ability to meet requirements, optimisation/performance, maintainability, thread safety/concurrency, usability etc Scope of coverage is generally wide across the project rather than few modules.
  • Can independently own the estimation and execution plan for modules and can provide useful inputs to peers and developers, where asked to review. Brings up issues/risks to the notice of leads/PMs where schedules are unrealistic and suggests action needed. Beyond coding tasks as well, is mature in estimating even build/release/automation tasks.
Experience/Qualifications/Personal Qualities:Necessary Skills are:
  • Proficiency in Java, JSP, Spring Framework (Spring boot ), Hibernate, JSON, XML, HTML5, CSS3 technologies.
  • Basic Knowledge in Java script technologies like AngularJS/ ReactJS/ VueJS including RxJS,
  • Working experience in CI tools like TeamCity, Bamboo etc. and good knowledge in DevOps model
  • Working experience in Cloud based technologies (like AWS services) will be an added advantage.
  • Working experience in Web MVC frameworks like Struts2, Spring MVC.
  • Working experience in designing Restful API
  • Understanding of Object Oriented design with the ability to comfortably navigate around a large Web Application.
  • Configuration Management tools, SVN.
  • Proficiency in code quality frameworks like SONAR and more quality centric approach.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good analysis and problem resolution skills
  • Team player with flexible, positive and realistic attitude.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, team-player
Preferable Skills are:
  • PAAS Platform as a Service / AWS - Amazon Web Services
  • Experience in integration with REST / Web Service based interface.
  • Familiarity with leading Javascript frameworks
  • Exposure to agile development methodologies like Scrum
  • Delivery and results focused
  • Automation first thought process
  • Ability to work under pressure
