Associate II Software Engineer

Department overview:

• The EDM Quality Assurance team comprises of Highly skilled and experienced Testing professionals located in Europe and India. The team supports the high quality of software by independently verifying that software functionality conforms to business requirements using a combination of manual and technical testing techniques. The team is also responsible for verifying technical aspects of the implementation including the performance and scalability of the solution.

Position summary

• IHS Markit is seeking experienced testing professionals to join its IHS Markit India operation. This position will involve hands-on test build /execution role in the financial domain. It is a highly technical position and will require strong knowledge of Selenium or Type Script / , SQL, stored procedures and other data manipulation technologies.Exp - 7-10 years

• Strong Experience in Test Automation Tool/Frameworks for example: Selenium or Protractor, Tyepscript , Cucumber, Concordion, Fitnesse

• Self-managed individual who can actively build the automation frameworks from scratch

• Proficient in Java Script / Type Script / API Testing (Please see Tech Section below for details)

• Good in implementing a Service Level Automation Framework

• Experience in designing high efficiency tests for scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant applications

• Strong Database knowledge: Should be able to define & develop Automation Frameworks for Database centric / ETL Applications.

• Must have Good communication skills

• Must have strong analytical and creative problem solving skills

• Good to have exposure in implementing Automation solutions to Agile Scrum and other SW development lifecycle.

• Should be growth oriented, confident and self-starter

Duties & accountabilities

• Operational Support
• Work with the QA Manager to meet automation test requirements to the highest standards

• Candidate should be Passionate about building great automation solutions

Technical

• Strong Knowledge of JAVA Script / Type Script and frameworks like Junit, TestNG

• Should be a technology geek, customer oriented and results driven

• Experience with advanced low level Java programming APIs, such as concurrency, NIO and byte buffers.

• Good understanding of relational databases, SQL, stored procedures and other data manipulation technologies.

• Understanding XML files and interpreting results provided in the format.

• Knowledge of Jira / Qtest

Desirable

• Knowledge and experience of financial markets

• Experience with other programming languages (e.g. C++ or C#) would be advantageous

• Demonstrated ability to work in a globally distributed software development team.
