Head of Cloud Operations

Job Description

This position is responsible for design, build, implementation, daily operations and management of Condeco data center operations providing SAAS solutions for our customers. This position is also responsible for designing the strategic roadmap for all next generation service infrastructures. An accomplished technical leader is required to lead infrastructure engineering, technology implementation, security and compliance, capacity planning/scaling, and operations. Primary Responsibilities & Objectives:- Ensure the availability and accessibility of mission critical software/services & systems to our client base. Availability targets to be determined by customer SLA. Manage data center design, build, technology implementation, security, capacity planning/scaling, and operations for multiple data centers. Provide project & management leadership for infrastructure growth and deployment initiatives. You will be accountable for ensuring technology projects incorporate appropriate planning, technical analysis, budgets, and resource management in order to meet deadlines and objectives. Project level involvement will vary to include, but not limited to the following: high-level designs, technology assessment, technical architecture review, staff & resources, implementation/deployment schedules, financial estimates and tracking / recording / reporting. Provides leadership, manages diverse technology staff to effectively accomplish goals. Further promote a team environment with our talented internal team, leverage their diverse technical talents and expertise across multiple projects to produce results. Design, implement, and manage highly scalable operating practices and deployment strategies for applications and web services using Microsoft technologies (ASP.Net, c#, MVC, SQL server, Java script, Exchange server, IIS) both on Condecos internally managed platforms and on Microsoft Azure. Develop and implement processes/procedures, ensure that established policies and standard operating procedures are followed for consistency across the organization. Collaborate with software engineering to define and develop DevOps processes to scale with Condecos ever growing global service operations. Develop and implement operational standards and security and compliance certifications. Responsible for vendor/suppliers relationships. Build a collaborative team. Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, vendors and clients. Works well with all levels to include key executives. Engage with our client technical leadership teams as necessary to ensure sizing and capacity for all clients as they move through the process of pre sales, sales, professional services, data center operations and support. Qualifications, Skills & Education:- Minimum of 10 years experience working in Data Center/IT operation environment, plus minimum of 5 years experience of managing multi-site/co-location data centers Experience in managing SaaS is a must; cloud computing experience is a plus. Degree educated in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering Successful leader and team builder throughout. Solid management and leadership capabilities, at least seven (7) years successfully managing a talented diverse technical staff Strong vendor management and negotiation skills. Extensive technical knowledge & operational experience with Networking, Virtualization, and SAN storage, Windows OS and data center infrastructure. Understands web-based software architecture/engineering as it relates to the infrastructure, and network operations. Demonstrated success in project/planning management and maintenance of multiple co-locations/Data Center(s) in a high volume transaction environment. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and allocate resources in a dynamic, strategic and execution-oriented manner. Track record of taking a combination of business, technology and budgets challenges to produce high-impact end results. Ability to collaborate with sales, professional services, engineering, product management and operations groups. Experience in working within a DevOps environment with knowledge of the principals and tooling associated with automated deployments and monitoring. Packet level knowledge of common web services and protocols (HTTP, SSL, REST, SOAP). Extensive understanding of software engineering concepts, with recent experience in Agile methodologies, and some experience in traditional Waterfall methodologies (i.e., version control systems, peer coding, code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration, release management, etc.).
