Job Description

*The Responsibilities of the Ward Secretary include the following:Daily Overall Co-ordination of the floor activities.Well groomed as per hospital guidelines.Take patients list of particular nursing counters .As and when required Patient rounds with Floor Executive/Coordinator. During rounds check if the patient is Cash/Insurance/Credit.Keep the initials ready on regular basis.To take the Xerox copies of all investigation reports especially for credit and insurance patients (ECG, ECHO, PFT, EEG, TMT, Nerve conduction study and audiometry) without fail.

  • Keep the discharge summary and the investigation reports in the grey folder.
  • Send discharged patient s files to MRD within 48 hours based on the discharge patient list and to track unsent file and send the same to MRD.
  • To keep the discharge TAT sheets and to update the same with remarks. To update the same in the system on daily basis.
  • To take the planned discharges from coordinators/nurses/clinical co-ordinators and to keep the discharge summary ready.
  • Fond farewell to be done for all discharge patients as part of TLS
  • Consultant Appointments to be taken for Discharge Patients and communicated to the Patient.
Follow up on discharge patients a. Inform the patient to clear the bill & gets the intimation to the nurses.b. To keep the grey file ready with investigation reports and discharge summary. To give pending report in case any reports are pending.c. To inform nurses explain the summary and gives clearance after patient leaves the room.d. Inform housekeeping staff once the patient leaves. Then HK to complete their work as per the TAT time and gives the clearance & change system to vacant.Perform any other duty assigned by the Executives/Higher Management.,
